Granted it's not the best sign but you can't expect them to accept their first offer without seeing if any other teams are interested, to get the Yankees to raise their offer. Knowing how badly CC wants to pitch in California I'd give the Yankees a 50/50 chance of signing him. If CC does sign elsewhere, I wouldn't blame Cashman, they came out with a solid offer, if it's not just about money there's not much else they can do.
