Yeah I mean this is the story of the season is it not. We were a great team with an OG. Possibly an Elite team with OG and Randle. But - we were a .500 team during the run of games without Randle and OG. And we found ourselves with that roster in the playoffs. You can be a .500 team against the rest of the NBA, but if you're playing a playoff calendar team the record is going to be worse. And it was. The hope was to try and play 2-3 in the last 5 and get OG back and we went 1-4.

Game 3 was where the series was lost. There was an opportunity to steal that game and we ran out of gas. Lots of contributing factors to what hurt us there - bad offense, bad calls, bad luck - but ultimately not winning that one killed us as it bought time for the Pacers to understand how to exploit our depleted roster. In the end we didn't have the bodies to play with them except for one inspiring night at the garden.

No knock. They beat who was in front of them. But I will say a lot of players got hurt in the series they played. I didnt watch the Bucks series, but I watched a game where a game after Brunson hurt his foot, his defender stepped under him on a 3 in the first quarter and nothing was called. I'm watching alot of players get injured during Indy's run and at the very least raising an eye brow.

Watching game 7 I know the Knicks had more foul shots, but I would like to know how many favorable whistles that didn't result in foul shots went Indy's way.

I'd rather lose to a fomitable foe then one than gets blown away in the next round. Maybe it validates our team just a bit.

Denver is the perfect example. 2 MVP seasons for Jokic were marred with injuries to his teammates and early playoff ousters. Then they finally get healthy and win the championship in the 3rd year of his peak prime. Boston was robbed of a chance to repeat with Pierce/KG because KG was hurt in year 2. This is basically the norm. Just like everything, eventually things even out. A year of this injury magnitude will likely be followed by some healthy runs.

I agree on the talking as well. We dished it out and got a little too ****y if we're being honest. Hart dissing Reggie in viral fashion and Donte calling them a soft team after going up 3-2. We gotta be able to take it if we're gonna dish it.

agree with all you say but i would add it was more than us not having the bodies. JB was harassed bullied and fouled sometimes for the full length of the court with no calls. Indiana came to the conclusion that they would throw 10 or 15 fouls his way if necessary but the refs swallowed their whistles. No other MVP-tier candidate has been treated this way even remotely. That wore him down and it hurt us as a team. Often we were playing offense with 8 seconds left. JJ and Doris (each with their own anti Knicks bias at points) were often saying they don't know what a foul is anymore because things were so out of whack

no one likes complaining about the refs and i think we all hoped we'd get past that but it was pretty ridiculous.
