If not for injuries Frank doesn’t even play any significant minutes. The sad part is fans knew when our coach was driving home Perry’s agenda of ostracizing Phil’s draft picks. Far as I’m concerned Perry and Fizdale should be fired on the spot for their negligence.

Injuries happen. Frank lost a lot of time last year. Ebb and flow. DSjr and Trier will get their chances again. ITs a long season. Can’t keep firing GM’s and coaches every other year.

That has a nice ring to it but consider this

Raptors GS and Cavs were all winning franchises and fired good coaches and won that season

Not trying to downplay the value of consistency but the really important thing is to have good judgment as an institution.

Cant believe you actually wrote this. Not 24 hours after saying that Fizdale hates Frank and wants to keep him buried on the bench, he gets important minutes in a our first win. Is brought back in the game, even though he couldnt find the rim. Was doing other things well.

Your theory about Fizdale (just 3 games into the season) was blown to hades. There is a long line at PG, Fizdale could have kept Frank on the bench. Some of you are still butt hurt over Phil. Worst record in franchise history as an exec. Accept it and move on. Frank will sink or swim on what he does on the court, not who picked him.

Like i said Fizdale did better last night BUT he has to keep doing it. I still feel the ball sticks and too much iso. That's something he needs to really prevent from happening. Obviously getting a performance like that from Portis really covered up some of those warts but hopefully its a step in a better direction. I do firmly believe that there is enough talent and depth to make this season fun once they start geling we just need the coach to keep growing as well

I don't know if you can give Fizdale credit for that. His hand was actually forced to play Frank. From Frank's defensive play to the crowd turning on the Knicks the previous game.

does the current FO get a mulligan for last year?

It's clear you hate Phil, but he was trying to play a hand with limited cap, no picks etc and his bad era still did better than last year

Sorry to wake you up from your happy dream

Hope to see the Knicks get off to better starts, sure liked how we finished. You watch opposing teams help each other get open looks, screens, give and go, P&R,.cutting, and its hard to miss that very little of that happens with us. Saw a little.more tonight in our first W. But we still have a long way to go. We're moving the ball, with the end result being mostly ISO. If the Knicks want to win more than a handful of games, that has to change.

Ellington worked hard a cutting, more than anyone else. Frank looked a lot more confident, but he still doesnt look like he wants to take the shot. Still early. Barrett is so poised for a rook its scary. Been a while since Ive heard someone say that they were built for this, and back it up the way RJ has. And he's a Knick! Knox's first step is getting better, better at finishing.

Once the PG position isnt a liability, our vets like Randle, Portis, Gibson, shouldnt have to work as hard to get buckets. Good thing during a long season.

You know if Payton doesn’t pull a hammy he is finishing that game. Fizz played Frank out of necessity because he is the last pg left on the bench. Another reality of playing Frank is to keep the masses off his back as they were all becoming disgruntled with his and Perry’s meddling with their biases all to save face on a deal gone bad. These are same idiots entertaining trading Frank because they have no use for defensive players.

I disagree. I thought there was a good chance that RJ and Trier would split the back up minutes. You know the good and bad you are going to get with Frank based on his career so far. I didn’t know if Fiz would want Frank’s good enough to give him the minutes.

True. Ironically the one game that we had a great start was the Boston game which ended terribly. Even the Spurs ad Nets games are so frustrating because we were nearly this close from puling out wins despite being down big. But its still early and hopefully more familiarity and bal movement will keep those big deficits from happening early

I watched Phil play at MSG, win a ring. Was happy to see him hired. Was one of his biggest defenders until Rose/Noah. Its clear you dont know what the F you are talking about. Im no Phil fanboy. When he did good I said so, when he F'ed up, did the same.

Frank got PT hours after some of you were carping about Fizdale's agenda towards him. Instead of admitting you were wrong, you drag Phil back into the conversation. Fanboys.

If Fizdale truly had an agenda he would have put in Trier, Allen, had Randle play pt forward. Anything to keep Frank on the bench. But he didnt, even after 0-6 from the field. The moment it was announced that DSJr was out, Fizdale penciled in Frank as the backup PG. He can play who ever he wants at this point of the season. Dont believe a few chants for Frank is going to make Fizdale alter his rotation. When he benches Frank he's wrong, when he plays Frank he's wrong. Thats an agenda.

I can’t believe anyone who defends Fizz. The man is simply a survivor and is clueless about coaching. The fans literally had light a fire under is azz before he went to Frank. He is a complete novice at whatever he is doing. Sad the fans had to show him how make a lineup that will help him win.

On not scoring:
Fizdale wrote:“It didn’t matter,” Fizdale said. “His minutes were fantastic. He guarded, he set the tone defensively, he made some nice plays to set some people up, he got us organized. The shots will fall for him, but the thing I’m proud of is how he kept himself ready, like I knew he would.

“Every day he wasn’t playing he was in the gym getting a sweat, just letting me know, ‘Coach, I’m ready when you need me.’ So I was really proud of his effort.”

On if he goes back to Elf:
Fizdale wrote:“Frank was playing a good game for us. I don’t know if I would’ve went back for Elfrid or not,” Fizdale said. “Next man up and that’s Frank. He’s done a great job keeping himself prepared and ready for this.”

Hey Vmart... what is your problem? Seriously... your favorite player got burn and made good plays in a big comeback, the team you pretend to be a fan of won and you are nothing but salt and misery. I honestly feel bad for you bro... if you cant enjoy this for 2 minutes maybe go read a book or paint something. Why are you here? You are not even talking about basketball. Fizdale sucks, or he doesnt. Did he kill your phucking dog? These are the moments you are supposed to enjoy (in case you were not sure... Its OK to enjoy these moments)

Only thing Im defending is Fizdale getting a fair shot to keep his job. First week of the season, and you already want him fired.

Look I think its fine to be critical of some oh his decisions that's fair. but give the guy a chance. Its only 4 games and there are a lot of new faces on this team, its gonna take a little time to gel. One thing I do like about Fizdale is that for the most part he keep the players motivated even when they are down big ad hey are able to come back at least even if we don't get the win.. I agree he needs o start implementing a better system and pulling in the reigns a bit when guys do too much iso but I still like the guy and feel he deserves time to prove it.

It's clear you hate Phil, but he was trying to play a hand with limited cap, no picks etc and his bad era still did better than last year

Sorry to wake you up from your happy dream

I watched Phil play at MSG, win a ring. Was happy to see him hired. Was one of his biggest defenders until Rose/Noah. Its clear you dont know what the F you are talking about. Im no Phil fanboy. When he did good I said so, when he F'ed up, did the same.

Frank got PT hours after some of you were carping about Fizdale's agenda towards him. Instead of admitting you were wrong, you drag Phil back into the conversation. Fanboys.

What are you 12?

you said Phil's era was the worst record which is demonstrably wrong

Do you think Fizz was giving Frank the minutes without the DSJ family situation? That's not what he implied post-Celtics game, when he said he heard the chants but he's gonna coach the team his way (i.e., not the fan's)

Listen any reasonable fan wanted Phil to succeed. He didn't. Some here -- notably Crush -- outlined a number of foibles long before other

The fact that Phil sucked doesn't mean the current FO is good.

If not for injuries Frank doesn’t even play any significant minutes. The sad part is fans knew when our coach was driving home Perry’s agenda of ostracizing Phil’s draft picks. Far as I’m concerned Perry and Fizdale should be fired on the spot for their negligence.

I’ll tell you what the problem is and why everyone here should be upset with management. They are playing favoritism with young kids based on someone else picking them up. The burn Frank got was out of necessity not because the coach saw a need for him. That is where the problem lies the intelligence that is lacking in the coach is unavoidable and needs to be scrutinized. As far as Perry he is trying to move the kid so his pickup DSJ can get the mantle all because he needs to justify a lousy deal. The PG of the future is right under their nose and they can’t see it. This is the type of MSG bullshyt that fans have to deal with f’ing bias driven management. This has plagued NYK for decades now and Perry and Fizdale come in displaying the same BS as before.

When you have agenda driven idiots running the show I fear it will be short lived.

Knicks better not come with that Bull**** today! Game thread.
