He also said that he thought pairing Trae and Porzingis on offense would be fantastic. Also said that he sees Frank as more of a wing player.

Steve Nash comparison is off. Nash was bigger, which made it easier for him to score at the rim and in the paint. I remember Steve being close to 200lbs when he came to the league. I think the Curry comparison is probably the best anyone can come up with right now. I remember him being off on his Frank evaluation last draft too. We'll see. Did he bring up any other prospects?

Nash seemed smaller than 200. I think he came in around 185lbs - 190lbs.

Your correct, dude was 185 and he was a senior not a freshman.

I contend he was bigger than 185 and the reason for his early struggles is because he was too slow. Unfortunately the DX historical combine link is broken and we can't get the actual measurements. Main point was young is smaller than Nash was.

Basically Nash and Curry vs. say Jonny Flynn, and others tells us some guys exceed and others disappoint and the moment you draft it can go either way.
We lament on Nash and curry but the fact is there are guys that don't live up more frequently than those that don't.
Trae is no lock to be Curry but was are all fixated on this. Draft is not easy.

The draft is real easy. Just go home, cook dinner and watch YouTube lol Who needs psych profiles, investigations into personal lives or a scouting department. Teams still get it wrong with all the resources they have at their disposal. You may not agree with all this organizations decisions, but we still do better than a lot of teams.

I heard something about the celtics taking brain scans of prospects. There is so much information out there. Stat tracking of college players has improved and most of these guys have been followed since they were 13-14 years old.

Trae is as good of a shooter as Steph Curry. No doubt about that. Is he a better decision maker....youtube highlights would have you believe that.

Will he be an asset on a Knicks team? I absolutely believe so, but will he be an even bigger liability than Steph on defense? I think so.
Will he increase his shooting range in the NBA? Again yes, I think so.

Could he become as successful as Curry...obviously very hard to say, but if you surround him with players like Iguodala - Mikal Bridges, Draymond Green - Wendell Carter Jr, yes he absolutely would be great to have with that Luxury on our team.

The problem is from a defense standpoint, we haven't yet shored up much...Frank as SG sure yes, KP at PF yes, but what about SF and C. Kanter sucks on D, and so do Lee and THJr.
so unless we are somehow retooling the defense this summer, Trae Young is not a luxury we can afford. If we say, maybe we will buy a pick this year and another one next year and retool defense that way, then yes, lets for Trae Young.

But how invested are we in Kyrie for 2019? He's 26. My guess is not a lot. Knicks front office seems committed to building through draft to entice FAs as opposed to trying to schmooze FAs with big presentations and fluff.

Given where Boston is in terms of talent, the safer play would be lets just build through draft and forget about going for a big FA signing this year or next year and take our time.

With all that said... the draft board should be:
1. Wendell Carter Jr
2. Kevin Knox
3. Miles Bridges
4. Mikal Bridges
5. Trae Young

If we buy a late teens or early 20s pick...then Huerter for that. He's more of a Nick Novak type to me than Klay Thompson. Some dribbling skills but hardly any in half court. In the half court he's like a spot up shooter.

I agree for the most part. My draft board would be different though. I would put Carter/Young at 1 because I don't think there is anyway both are there. Miles would be 2 and I would consider taking him over young. I think I would take Mikal next but if Knox did things in his workout that impressed maybe he gets bumped up. Also, if Carter and Young are gone but Porter is there at 9 do you take him?

First, let's look at the Young/Curry comparison. Young shot 36% from 3; as a freshman Curry shot 41%. Not exactly the same. Looking at Young's short arms, lack of athleticism and low release point, it's going to be more difficult for him to get his shot off against nba defenders. And his defense was not only weak. It was non-exostent.

the whole injury thing scares me about Porter. Depends on whether we are going to keep him long term or trade him away like the Suns did with Amare. not many Donnie Walshs and Dolans around from 2010

He still manage to dish out 8.5 assist in college on a team full of bums, some of the turnovers came because his teammates weren't ready for the pass or fail to cut correctly. the last 12 games of the season saw TRAE get a different kind of attention from opposing teams. The scouting report was basically stop him by any means, forget about his teammates

cmon on dude stop nit picking, wanna go ahead and post the lame turnovers frank had through out his career, or the horrible passes he threw to his teammates that they couldn't do anything with.

Nobody said trae was a flawless prospect, every young player has to learn.

post the flaws of your favorite prospects and stop being bias.

I have looked at the weaknesses and the strengths(on DX) of the top 10 players in the draft and almost all of the weaknesses of these players look scary bad.

sorry dude. Nitpicking? 12 TOs in a big game is not nitpicking. Its a ****ty play. But Trae is young? That is your argument? Really? Lets act like knicks1248 and evaluate Young: He's sloppy with the ball and doesnt play D. He's got that "get his" AAU mentality. Like 1248 says... "Its in his DNA."

Young may or may not be a good NBA. Everyone loves to call him Steph Curry... until he isnt.

7 assists and 6 TOS in the OT game they lost.

Is 6 TOs from your PG in a tourney game nitpicking?
