snip
- As far as I can tell, workouts are totally closed this year. No media before, during, or after, in-house coverage included.

- The Knicks do not own a second-rounder, but there's a decent chance they try to grab one. Workouts of later-projected guys could help stock the Summer League team, too.

- The Knicks are/were present at Kristaps Porzingis' public workout in Las Vegas on Friday 6/12.

I just saw that C.Payne canceled his workout with the Knicks. Does anyone know why or has anyone heard anything about it?? I'm a big fan and really wanted him if we traded down some.

Did he cancel it, or did we make it known we didn't want to work him out.

Would it mean that we are going to take Mudiay and don't need to look at Payne?

Has Phil decided not to trade down from 4, and since Payne will go before any pick we might buy, its not worth the time to work him out?

Well I don't know the answer to any of those questions but I don't see Phil settling on taking Mudiay at this point cause I think he's open to almost everything as in trades and still think he has many players he likes but again I have no idea but I am a big fan of Payne and hope he's still an option in any trade down scenario.

He's a ballzy little PG. You know he's watching the finals and thinking he could have saved the Cavs and helped James if he was on Cleveland.

Saw on rotoworld that he hurt his wrist in his workout for the Nuggets so i guess that might have something to do with why he canceled his workout with us.

Maybe Nuggets made him a promise.

Maybe Fuzaro expected some calls but didn't get them after he did one of those workouts like Porzingis did.

Seemed ready to compete at this level, IMO, or at least give it a shot.

Strange- would like to find out why.

So they've brought in Porzingis as asked 1 big and two PGs in.

Lakers have almost always had a legit presence in the post, but I guess the GS concepts is trending at the moment and Kupchak has to consider a guard.

Interesting that Mudiay is being brought back since his first workout was not great, supposedly.

If they stunned everyone and took him- we would have a choice of two players from Porzingis/Russell/and OK4.

The post says Russell came in for a stealth workout with the Knicks.

Before D’Angelo Russell canceled a meeting with the Sixers last weekend, raising eyebrows, the Ohio State guard quietly worked out for the Knicks on June 11 in Westchester, The Post has learned.

Russell, after the Knicks meeting, didn’t show up for the Sixers workout reportedly because he got sick. But he was back East Wednesday to work out for the forever-rebuilding Philly franchise, which may hold the key to Phil Jackson’s draft fortunes.

If Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor and Russell are off the board at No. 4 in the June 25 NBA Draft, the Knicks may try harder to trade down and accumulate an extra asset. They have three trade exceptions to use to engineer a trade down to the No. 7-to-14 range and still land a much-coveted big man such as Willie Cauley-Stein or Frank Kaminsky, who will work out for the team Thursday.

The Post reported last week the Sixers have been set on Russell at No. 3 for a while. Sixers head coach Brett Brown is a Rick Pitino disciple, and the Louisville coach is enamored with the crafty Russell, who grew up in Louisville.

However, an enormous publicity campaign has been waged in the past five days by agent Andy Miller for Spanish league 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis, who had a stirring open workout in Las Vegas on Friday.

Prominent draft site Draftexpress.com has penciled in Porzingis to the Sixers at No. 3. With the news injured center Joel Embid may not be ready for the start of next season, the Sixers may prefer another big man and eschew the point-guard position.
That means Russell would fall to the Knicks.

However, a league source insists the Sixers taking Porzingis over Russell is a reach and they are after the best available player regardless of position.
“If you’re basing taking him because of last week’s workout, you should be fired,’’ the league source said.

Porzingis is a polarizing player because he put up minimal statistics for Seville, is just 19 years old and his body is not NBA ready. He’s listed at 220 pounds, and some feel he’s two seasons away from contributing.
