I would presume th hype comes from the fact that some of the best teams in euroleague play in England so soccer is huge there

In all fairness, England aren't very pompous anymore. Most of their commentators and analysts recognize (and have done for the past 8 years or so) that they just aren't good enough.

What they really need to do is forget about winning the next tournament and concentrate on winning a tournament in 10-20 years time by developing youth structures like those on continental Europe. I.e., ones that put an emphasis on ball control and tactics rather than huffing and puffing.

Wait are you guys happy with this result? They just had to defend for the last 20 seconds. 20 seconds and they would have been in the knock out stages. And now we need to hold possibly the best team in the tournament to a draw.
