Why can that context be used when defending Denver but when "The Knicks had injuries the past 2 seasons and Melo couldnt do it by himself" gets said its ignored?
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Agreed. This is juvenile. Can we move on? Of all the trades to get fixated on, THIS is the one people want to talk about?
SO many worse trades in the last 10 years, and people are still talking about this one?
Even if you are not the biggest Carmelo fan, at worst he's carried this team all year and into the second round of the playoffs.
Personally, I'm not the hugest fan of what he does to the pace of the game, from a sheer entertainment perspective, but come on!
With half the salary cap tied up in non-contributing players, we're going to debate what Melo has done this year?

Instead, can we talk about the Eddy Curry trade? At least there we really got fleeced. Or the Marbury trade? (Remember Penny Hardaway?) Jalen Rose? Mo T?! Steve Francis?! Tracy McGrady? Countless draft picks.

54 wins, second round at worse, on Melo's back, and we're still debating if he was worth trading for. Did we overpay? What's done is done. Move on.

How come no one ever talks about George Karl's inability to get out of the 1st round & that perhaps he was a large part of that situation out there. 2 years post-Melo & another 2 1st round exits. Place the blame where it is most properly due.

You know what's Juvenile , so called Knicks fans still have resentment towards Carmelo Anthony coming to NY from Denver and is still playing in the 2nd season.

The people that's upset with the thread are the people who loved the old Knicks who were here.

Stop saying you are a true Knicks fan, that's is getting old.

You don't have to take your mask off, we know who you are.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

He has only gotten out of the first round once in the last 9 years.

Even though I have participated in this thread, I have more than once called it a "Revenge/Right Back@Ya" thread that will always devolve into bickering. Probably for the best to lock it.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

or his inability to connect with Star or difficult players. Karl could Never reach JR and even though he still does a few bonehead things, he has become a better player under Woodson, a coach who was able to connect. Karl has feuded and fallen out with every Star he has coached. Dude has even lost a team or two do to his past penchant for bashing his players in the media instead of speaking to them himself. No wonder he prefers to coach role players who are less likely to ruffle his feathers.

Karl has gotten as a coach for years (not getting out of the 1st). Larry Bird got a pass for many, many years and I don't think he can even be credited fully for the roster they currently have. Same for Joe Dumars. Of ALL the guys that have gotten a pass, I don't think anyone has flown under the microscope like Joe has an in many ways, he is the absolute worst of the bunch.

Its the "daily revisit"!

Melo was great last nite. His play obviously makes todays devotional an easy subject.

he stopped with the MeBall that we were all complaining about. Played within the offense, took fewer dumb shots and he stopped bickering at the Refs. He hasn't been getting the calls all years so, he should stop looking for them in the post season.

I thought he let his offensive come to him, allowed his teammates to do their think which, will keep their confidence high.

Arguably if we didn't make the trade with Denver, we would have probably lost to Boston in the 1st Rd.

a direct measure of team against team is meaningless without factoring in the respective short-, medium-, and long-term goals of both franchises.

the nuggets in the short term exceeded their goals and the expectations of the basketball public. they really missed gallinari in that first round but they made it to the playoffs and were a 3rd seed in the west. that is impressive.

the knicks in the short term is still an open question. they met expectations by securing the second seed, and if they make it to the ECF they will have met the expectations of most people, even those who, like myself, are not fans of the the way the team was built. should they make it to the finals they will have exceeded expectations.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

why is this thread continuously bumped?
