Knicks best bet is to trade for overpaid talent.

Trades like

Nene and Blatche
for
Amare

Why? Washing has Okafor and Nene making almost 30 million combined

Igoudala
for
Amare

Why? Philly will likely lose Igoudala and Brand next summer.

there will be no major trades...amare is NOT going anywhere
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I have absolutely no sympathy for many of these owners after seeing some of the deals they have agreed to. I can't believe I sat through a lockout last year just so these dudes can repeat the same mistakes.

To improve they must find another sign and trade partner so they can keep the Klein. Also Jose Calderon may still be cut.

What Iman (when he returns 100% healthy) has over him is elite defense, athleticism, and finishing ability.

What Landry Fields has over him is elite rebounding and size at SG. He also moves well w/o the ball (while Mayo is still learning how to play off the ball - He thinks he's a PG and is outspoken about that - while Iman talks about doing whatever it takes to contribute).

Mayo isn't in demand right now because Ray Allen is unsigned. Things will trickle down and that's when we'll really see what a guy like J.R. Smith and O.J. Mayo gets. The best players sign first then it trickles down.

I think front court depth and PG depth takes priority over the SG, personally. I don't know what the status of J.R. Smith is going to be but Iman Shumpert will be the starter when he comes back from his injury unless he's traded and Douglas is on the roster. Anybody who can spread the floor and hit a jumper will be fine at SG until Shumpert gets back.

I was talking to a friend about this....These owners band together and lock the players out to scale back the salaries, then as soon as the lockout is lifted, they F*** each other over by overpaying for guys like Fields, and create posion pill back loaded contracts. Its a joke....

Many of us were calling the owners out about this during the Lockout and this just confirms what we were saying about them! New CBA same owner on owner bad business practices leading to financial issues and bad teams. It's always been about the owners!!!

Eh, this is Knicks' fans just whining. I'm excited about the changes. Terry will make Boston a more exciting team to watch. Nash in LA! Possibly Dwight Howard in Brooklyn.

Cube let Tyson go to make a run at Deron Williams.

Other teams do silly things to create the opportunity also.

Raptors played chess with us to block a clean run at Nash by snagging Lando.

Good pickup but year three gonna be expensive. Not if Lando plays into that contract.

We generally focus on our team and not considers what others are doing.

Lakers gave up their draft picks to make a run with Nash.

Celts might be actually rebuilding on the fly. If they can resign Pierce to a low contract next year and he don't mind coming off the bench that could work. Nets if they can snag Illysonva to pair with BroPez up front might be a nice tandem. Illy can rebound (avg 8-9 per game) and if BroPez can pick it up some they could make noise. BroPez is one of the better offensive centers in the league and can hit an outside shot. That opens a lot of doors for slashing Deron and Wallace while Illy, BroPez and JJ can all get a clean look when the ball gets kicked out. Without Howard Nets can keep their depth. Thats not a championship roster but its strong on paper. Nets looking at some other Euro as well. The depth looks decent there.

The Holiday showed a lot of activity but the DwightMare has been very quiet.

With Nash gone we can look forward to perhaps Shump sticking and Lin returning. I think it might matter for Lin to return with him getting the keys to drive the the team than share it with Nash. We need a good free agent for the year to cover Shump. we just can't count on him for this season.

I was in agreement with Briggs that if we got nash it would make sense to trade Lin for a rookie contract and a draft pick. Have to keep an eye on the future.
