seriously, what did you expect with the amount of time left?

Pull up J or bank shot, then he probably gets the Superstar call. I mean he's only been called for charging like 2-3 times before that drive plus a couple travels. Pull up Melo, understand the situation. Remember he's supposed to be the closer. This happened before too to Melo against the Spurs at home being called for a charge drawn by Ginobli. I guess he hasn't learned.

Come on man. You take it to the rim and put the pressure on the refs. I prefer him not to take a Mr Softie jumper when the lane is wide open.

What part about him being called for charging plays prior to aren't you grasping? He had the guy trailing him pull up if he's looking for fouls A LA bait Billups but you can't go Karl Malone in that case when a guy was located in the area to draw the charge.

honestly, melo had started in the air when samuels slid under him. I would be perfectly fine if they eliminated offensive fouls for help defenders... just take that out of the rule book.. it is a BS call.. also when a guy passes the ball off and runs into a guy, calling that a fould is also BS.....

Byron has a douchey personality but got to the finals twice and the N.O. team w CP3's first big year was well coached too-
But if/when gets replaced the only clear upgrades are Phil Jax and Popovich- unless you believe in Adelman or Rick Carlisle
I can't see Byron being a Knick coach- I just can't!
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Hell no to Byron Scott. He's just as big a perennial loser as D'antoni, if not more.

If he pulled up and gets stripped/blocked from behind or bricks the shot then what would you say. Driving strong to the basket means a higher percentage shot and the likelihood of drawing a foul.

Im pretty sure 8 out of 10 times that call goes Melo's way.

I think it's bad basketball but Billups does it all the time players run up his back and he gets fouled. I doubt Parker blocks his shot from behind trailing him but then again Melo the Superstar was getting his ish pushed in all night mixed with bunny hopping so maybe you're on to something.....

I think Scott has been blessed by having extremely talented point guards run his team. When he was in nj his substitutions were almost on the second every game. There was the famous incident where his assistants set him up to prove he didn't watch tape. He is famous for his naps and golf outings and both probably have gotten him fired in the past. I don't want either D'Antoni or Scott in NY and I don't think either is a good coach.

The NBA needs to address a lot of things and I think they will this summer. I think the point you made is valid but needless to say it's been called this way for such a long time. If offensive players can decide game with cheap calls and being serenaded to the line well defensive players/plays should be afforded the same. It's gotta be both ways. When the NBA failed to address the flopping issue I think we all saw it was a sign of bad things to come. It's ironic to see a Superstar not get a Superstar call isn't it? This was a time you'd prefer the Superstar call be made right?

For the record although Melo had tons of costly errors tonight he was the furthest reason as to why we lost. He played an overall well rounded game.

It's easy for us to sit here and talk about what he could have done. Fact remains there was 7 seconds on the clock. Not a whole lot of time to play around when we were down by 2.

7 sec is plenty of time to drive past a slower footed defender and pull up for a shot. Like Albert said Melo was caught off guard after he saw the Red Sea part of for 1.5sec then went all in and committed. I'm not blaming him, I just think he could have used better offensive judgement there according to how the game was being called with him.

That was a terrible last possession but against the Cavs, that shouldn't have happened. But whatever, giving how we've played recently I'd say this is more of a fluke than say, against Miami

yea, I agree, but melo did what you are supposed to do in that situation.. you beat your man, you go to the rack... suprised he didn't get that call...

But as you said, this team has other problems, and our guards defense is a huge problem.. TD did a horrible job defending scrubs like sessions..

as far as our big man situation.. we need another big to help amare out.. I mean really, letting a clown like samardo samuels think he belongs on this level is a joke.. to have him poking his chest out vs us is inexcuseable!!!

As I was concerned will Brown get into the PECKING ORDER? Man I hate this coach. Fans keep calling our GM/Pres moves great ones yet they're usually last resort options on his part utilizing them. I do not and never have understood the Effries love affair and I hope all those who were endorsing the move can see how flawed it is. Look Effries may be 6'11" but he isn't a center. We saw it for 2yrs here he wasn't one. Why are we trying to fool ourselves into thinking he is one while all 29 NBA teams knows he isn't a center and probably relish playing us while he's on the floor. There's less than 20gms left what is D'AnToni waiting on to see in players he never will?

This year is so close to such a waste. We were on a very good track and it's unfortunate we cracked. Meanwhile Moz is getting DNP'd and AR is getting PT being more productive than a couple of our starters the past 2gms.....UNREAL!

I agree. Randolph got 27 minutes tonight. The guy is 21 and 6'11". He had 12 pts, 4 assists, 2 blocks a steal and a rebound tonight. I don't know how you banish a guy like that. Too much was given up in the Melo trade and Randolph is on D'Antoni just like Hill was last year.

Amar'e admits the obvious: Knicks still don't know what to do in defending the pick-and-roll. ORL and CLE shredded them with it

Why was TD benched?

Dribbling into a trap he should have recognized and turned the ball over. Sure it was bad. . was it so bad to get the doghouse? Guess so. doubt you see anymore TD

Douglas is part of the rotation, for better or worse. But once Billups is back, and that will probably be vs. Atlanta, he should never see time as a PG. He is a joke of a PG.
