shelden williams is a good rebounder and good defender in the post. that's about all he can do and is MUCH better than mozgov in those regards. he's a bruiser which we need but his secondary skills are just not that there and probably won't ever be.

that being said he's loads better than mozgov and is a better rotation partner with turiaf. hopefully we get earl barron back in the mix and he can contribute also.

According to the Times the Knicks got Brewer:

As part of the deal, the Knicks will send Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry and $3 million to Minnesota, in exchange for Corey Brewer. The Knicks have not yet decided whether to keep Brewer or flip him in another deal. They have several other trade possibilities in the works as they approach the N.B.A.’s Thursday trading deadline.

At first I had a pretty bad taste in my mouth about this deal.

One the one side Carmelo is a Superstar.
On the other we gave up all that we did.

I just read that the Knicks have the rights to Corey Brewer after all the trades.
Knicks are just deciding on whether to keep him or flip him for another asset.

Billups REALLY didn't want to leave Denver. Wonder if he'll pull what other plays in the past have and just refuse to come to NY. Even if he does come how happy will he be? How's he gonna feel about Melo? There were rumors that Nugget players feel like Melo was just gettin' his and kind of checked out. If Billups was one of those guys you think he'll feel weird about seeing Melo SO happy in NY with Chauncey being miserable being away from his home and his family?

But is it worse? The biggest loss is Chandler's weakside shotblocking. Moz was barely playing and even since he started playing again we were only 4-4.

Shelden Williams is a pretty good defender. Balkman is very good if he's got his head on straight. I'm not sure our D changed a lot here unless you think Moz was gonna develop into something. To me on defense he had a long way to go. He was more of a Nazr Mohammad dunker/rebounder at this point.

A league source is confirming a Denver Post report that the Denver Nuggets are trading Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks, NBA.com's David Aldridge reports.

The Post, citing a league source, said the Knicks would send Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov and a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Nuggets, who would get additional picks and cash.

Along with Anthony, New York would acquire Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman, according to the Post.

Well the last week we had One very Questionable Starter in Mosgov and what one Decent Benchplayer in Chandler who by the way was really a starter with his minutes.

There..I feel better already.

We will have 1 of Melo, STAT and Billups on the court at all times. Our bench isn't much different now than it was before. the key is Fields continuing his great play.
