second game in a row or perhaps 2 out of three where MDA has gone with an all youthier lineup for a good 4-8 minute stretch: Fields, TD, Gallo, Wilson, Moz at the beginning of the second quarter. Amare came in for Chandler after 4 minutes and then Felton subbed for TD.

Nice. It's the anti-MDA move of youth and a C who can't shoot the 3, not sure what he's thinking.

Oh, Knicks were behind by like 14 at that point and came back to almost even. Philly did have their youth movement on the court too. All around 23. Knicks won that match-up.

BTW, is Evan the quietest #2 pick ever? I can't even recall 1 good thing he did on the court.

haha yeah. It was more of a rhetorical question about Evan not doing much. Seems like a guy like Fields had more impact on the game than Turner.

Doug Collins is doing a good job as 76ers coach. Players coming together nicely.

He is doing a good job. I hated that hire for the Sixers but it seems to be working out. Collins isn't dropping weight like he usually does when he coaches either.

no one else was hitting their shots in the 4th quarter & Felton had just gone off on a tear in the 3rd to get the lead in the first place... we didn't lose the game because of Ray Felton last night, we lost because the entire team made some boneheaded plays down the stretch & Williams had brainlock on the final shot attempt.

Stat looked real pissed and he should be.. There's no reason why he shouldn't have gotten the ball. That's an awful loss, maybe the worst yet because they're right behind us in the standings

i thought Amare did a crappy job tonight in the 4th quarter, trying to force up shots in traffic & making bad turnovers... maybe that's why Felton didn't want to go to him.

I don't think he has that option. 13 out of 14 of the last games, Felton shot under 50%, yet he continued to take his shot. Sometimes I feel as though he believes that he is the 2nd option. He's not

Felton got double teamed at the top of the key & passed it off to Gallo who swung it over to Shawne Williams who had a wide open look at a 3 in the corner & passed it up & laid up a half arse floater attempt off the dribble... that is not a mistake on Felton in any way, shape or form... again, if u watched the 4th quarter u would have seen Amare forcing up shots in the paint in the 4th quarter & making some costly turnovers... he was not on his game... i have no problem whatsoever w/Amare not getting the ball on the last possession in that PnR, Thaddeus Young left Williams wide open in the corner to rotate to pick up Amare on the PnR, Amare was not open... Shawne Williams got the ball in his hands after he has just made the last 3 pointer from the same exact spot to get the game within 2 points on the previous possession & he just simply made a bad decision to pass up the shot & drive... that's not on Felton.

I kept saying to myself. should gallo have faked the shot and then drove to the basket? I think he made the right pass to williams. I wish williams had shot it, but honestly, why were we in this position to this team?

the Sixers have been playing great in recent weeks, won 5 of 6 coming into this game including victories over the Jazz & Nuggets... the Knicks got off to a double digit lead after Felton went on his offensive tear in the 3rd quarter but then they started forcing up shots in the paint & making boneheaded turnovers in the 4th quarter... Iggy started hitting his shots & the Knicks stopped playing defense for the first 11 minutes... they finally got some defensive stops in the final minute & Gallo & Williams both made 3's to get the team back to within 2.

i agree Gallo made the right decision swinging the ball to the corner to a wide open Williams... Gallo was covered & the middle was clogged up by Thad Young who rotated over to cover Amare... Williams had an open look & had a brainlock... at least he was man enough to own up to his mistake in his postgame comments... hopefully the next time he has the chance he won't hesitate.

Knicks running out of time and excuses

....

Gallinari then made the wise decision -- yes, he was guarded and to chuck a three there would have been ill-advised -- to swing the ball to the corner to Shawne Williams, the NBA's best three-point shooter who is so often money from that left corner and had just nailed one from there a few seconds earlier to bring the Knicks to within two. But Williams passed up what would have been a game-winner to drive the ball and never looked sure of that decision from the moment he put the ball on the floor.

To his credit, Williams man-ed up after the game and admitted it was a mental mistake on his part

exactly.. there was too much stupid on everyone's part last night. Knicks really need to get the next one against them; they're way too close in the standings for an 0-2

Felton's being shooting like that for many games now. It just happened those shots fell in the third quarter last night. It isn't what you want from your pg.

+1

One good game does not pardon him. It's the average that is troubling, his 'norm', his approach to the game is flawed.

i guess it's weird i'm hearing all these complaints about Felton taking shots these days but i didn't hear anyone complaining when he was averaging 16 shot attempts per game during our last 8 game winning streak.

His production during that streak was not sustainable. It was good while it lasted, but if you're looking at the long-term health of the team, his play is problematic.
