OMG, Gallo played 13 minutes today... BRIGGS & isles can step away from the ledge now that he's getting some playing time again.

Well it wasonly one game. Watch him get a DNP next game.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

While I am happy for Gallinari, I don't think this was as much of a big game for him as people want to make it out to be. He hit two set up 3s and got 3 weak side rebounds. I expect him to be able to make the set up 3s. If you notice the Orlando players were more concern where Nate, Chandler and Harrington were on the court than Gallo. I mean that is 3 point specialist territory like guys like Kerr, Scott, Paxson, Korver and Kapano. I enjoyed his help defense and that gritty rebound he got against 3 Orlando players. I personally liked his game against the Pacers more because he was looking to mix it up some in the post. I also think he benefited from playing away from the action for the most part. With that said, there is no way he should take a back seat to Hughes or Q.

The key difference is that Gallinari was actually involved in the game, instead of camping out in the corner.

Not a Gallo supporter, but he showed some bigtime guts tonight.

Proud of the team even though they lost.

He's a rookie on your team, why would you not be a supporter?

Ironically, Gallinari was allowed to stay in the game because of his defense, because he sure as hell was not involved in the offense during his first 10 or 11 minutes in the game. I guess this is what MDA means when he says that Gallinari has to "pay his dues" before getting more playing time.

Says something about Gallinari, who is a much better defender than anyone (including myself) thought he might have been, and MDA, who supposedly does not care about defense. He is still learning defensively, but he really seems to have an idea about how to play team D, and his man on man D is better than many people think it is.

Not exactly the defensive liability many though he would be.

You can't get too carried away by what he did in the Orlando game, but:

1) Gallinari will hopefully get a confidence boost that allows him be more relaxed on offense and let him play the way he is capable of playing;

2) His performance should increase the confidence other Knicks (and MDA, for that matter) have in him to the point that he actually has plays set for him.

Gallinari has tremendous range on his 3s.

And the defensive sequence against Hedo was phenomenal.

My favorite Gallo moment was when he was fronting Howard and getting physical with him. Those shots at the end of the game were pretty sweet too. Looks like Gallo is starting to play more up-tempo and is looking to get physical.Instead of waiting for the contact, he's starting to initiate it. A huge step forward for the Rooster IMHO

as JamaicanJetFan said, Gallo has tremendous range on his 3's. He als ohas intangibles that you can just feel when he is the game and not being ignored. Everyone knew that he was going to get those 2 3's? Yup, the Magic did and look where he took it from. He took it from the GWB. The other one he faked the defender and took a long 2 that went in all net. Also, his rebounds were not your Curry type rebounds that hit him in his hands, he actually had to go and get the. Watch how he plays, he is always crashing the boards. He is in the passing lane a lot and he provides good help defense. They should have credited him with 1 block.

I too liked the spark the kid has shown. His jump shot is sweet and you can tell he really wants to play and play hard! However, all of you who seem ready to crown him a defensive stopper should hold that chariot. Let's see how he holds his own against the more athletic players. Coach D is hoping that Hughes shows he can still defend in space which is why he is going with him. He realizes that Hughes is not in game shape yet. I too would like to see Dani get more minutes but Hughes has a history of being a good defender and Dani is still making his name and what we don't see is how Dani fairs even in practice against someone like Chandler who can drive and shoot with speed.

All these comparisons to Dirk need to stop. The only thing they have in common is the skin color and they can both shoot. We know Dirk doesn't play D and we still don't know if Dani can play D on a consistent basis. Some want to find out now and some want to go with the known commodity in Hughes with hopes he can regain his defensive mojo.

Only time will tell folks. Only time will tell.

^ I never compared him to Dirk Diggler. I said he is Bird Lite

In regards with his defense, he has a long way to go with man-to-man defense but his help defense is really good. He just gets overpowered man-to-man. He will fill out and he should be fine in 2 years when his body matures. Right now, his skills are just phenomenal.

Personally I don't like Nate, Al, David, Wilson, Jared, Q, Chris, the other Chris and I am irate that we draft Gallinari. I hope they all do horribly and their careers come to a crashing halt immediately.

Go Knicks!

the gallo pick was made before walsh knew what he had in lee. he wasn't a huge lee fan before but as the season progressed, he became one. imho, the gallo pick is/was a mistake and he will be moved sooner than later (if lee is re-signed that is)...

First, fire the public address announcer for forcibly mangling Gallinari's name

The follow this simple plan

Nate, Chandler and Gallinari have excellent outside range. They get major minutes.

You can pencil each one of them in to average 18 points per game. Gar-ron-teed... they all mature and improve.

Decide on an outstanding point guard who can average 9 assists and manage the flow

And find a center who can give you 12 points and 15 rebounds

David Lee can become sixth man

Keep Wilcox

Duhon can be a backup, maybe. Maybe he starts, who knows?

That's eight
once a knick always a knick

I think they are all ridiculous but at least the "sanctimonious" ones make sense. After all, it's their team.

If Gallinari and Lee turn out to be good players doesn't that benefit us? Even if they do play the same position? If they can't co-exist you could always trade one for a need at another position. Not sure it's any type of problem at this point.
