TMS, I really have to disagree with you on his showboating. I really see nothing wrong when he's dancing during warmups, b/c at the same time, I see him being a good teammate and really don't think it interrupts his play. He plays to win and he gets pumped up by the game and I just don't see that as showboating.

My only problem with him is that he sometimes loses focus on defense but I've seen him improve that too. It's worth keeping him, and it may even be more worth keeping him more than Lee.

I said MAY. I just want to keep them both and I think we should. And if we don't, we better get something really good back in a trade. Like Anthony Randolph or Russel Westbrook or someone in that area.

how did u feel about Nate's selfish play when he & Al Harrington were shooting us out of games earlier this season? just curious... he's not w/o his faults & all i'm doing is addressing them because they concern me... i think we're better off trading him while his value's at its peak... we'll just have to agree to disagree... no way in hell i'd sign him over D Lee if i had the choice either.

My last word on this one as well. Nate and Al were actually shooting for different reasons TMS. Nate was in a horrible slump and you know the old saying is you get out of a slump by shooting yourself out of one.

In regards to Al, Al shoots regardless if he is in a slump or not. Both are shooters and thats what shooters do but Al takes way more low percentage shots than Nate and that is the big difference between the two. Now like you said "earlier in the season", many here including myself, both see progress and promise in the little guy. I do see what you mean about selling while the stock is high but I guess I kinda fell in love with this particular stock and the potential it has to do well.

See you around TMS and great posts.

Last Word My Butt

32 points and 10 rebounds

against the San Antonio Spurs?

are you kidding me?

Forget being a good player for 5'7. Forget his height, weight or shoe size.

Hopefully in a couple of days the Knicks will be officially done with Nate.

The problem with Nate is that he'll put up games like this but he doesn't put up enough games like this to warrant the contract.

JrZyHus - son, those numbers posted by Nate are not optimism.

Those numbers are for real.

What if his productivity over the week before the All Star Game was not an aberration?

nyk4ever - can you cite a more impressive four game stretch by any Knicks player this season?

Ok - he had a great 4 game stretch. What about the 4game stretch from Jan 12 to Jan 17 where he averaged 7pts a game? That's the thing with Nate.. it always seems to balance out.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nate, I'm just not sure I'd pay him the contract he's looking for. Nate is more of the player you add when you already have a team assembled, I don't think Nate is a building block.

nate robinson is in his 4th year and he is BEASTING right now. when you talk about a young developing player, what the kid does prior to now shouldn't be looked at as a true indication of what that player will ultimately be. this is kind of like his new base point to build from. he's 10X better than duhon...it's not even a debate.

Nate>Duhon and Gallo without any thinking on his part. Sad state of the Knicks is that the Knicks will have to get rid of two of their best players to chase a fading dream.

I'm ecstatic that Nate put up those real numbers in the last game (his last game?) before the trade deadline.

I really hope that another team and their fans have to play the "what if" game about Nate's productivity being an aberration.

Nate Robinson is not a PG so why compare him to Duhon? Duhon is not supposed to go out there and play amazing. He's just supposed to run the offense efficiently and he does.

Nate is just an undersized scorer, nothing more. He doesn't suck. He's a great high energy player off the bench. He also has moments of lapses where he takes crappy shots and whatnot and his defense is still terrible. He plays hard but he's not someone you have to keep by any stretch of the imagination. The smart thing to do is to sell high on someone like Nate.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The Answer Man Probes Deep Inside The Numbers

Q. nyk4ever - What about the 4game stretch from Jan 12 to Jan 17 where he averaged 7pts a game?

A. Let's see, what is the average between 30 points and 7 points?

18.5

That ain't bad.
