Things I took the game since I as there alone tonight:

-Jerome James warms up by shooting 3's and nothing else.
-Roberson isn't THAT bad but we need Mobley or someone that can can play defense.
-Defense sucks ass, especially in the post.
-David Lee just scores off Duhon passes.
-Mike D'Antoni made a terrible move taking out a hot Tim Thomas in the 2nd quarter for Malik Rose.
-Knicks lost with terrible 4th quarter execution, allowing Portland to go on a 19-5 run in the first 6 minutes.
-Shotblocking is not overrated.

i agree. i came away from this game thinking we need a guy like pryzbila and that fernandez and rodriguez would be the perfect backcourt for this team.

I am not sure about that backcourt. I mean you guys complain about defense, put those two back there and we are worse... rodriguez is fine, but fernandez seems a little out of control to me... he can shoot tho...

that back court is pretty much solely responsible for the run that ended the third quarter and started the fourth. they are awesome offensively.

they're also pretty much the ones who turned the game around in the first half. roy is extremely solid, but that backcourt they have off the bench is something special.

Just think about it.
We lost by 10 points and were in the game almoust all night against team with 13 first round picks including an All-star player.
And they are bigger at all postiones and more talanted at all positions.
And we are shorthanded...

Isn't this amaizing?

If we were a younger team like them maybe. Nah, it was really amazing considering we had just like 7 guys but this is getting ridiculous. We need many people back and soon.

If we had more keepers in this team I'd feel better about this team...

After seeing this game, I finally understand why so many on this board like Sergio Rodriguez. When he took control of their offense, they started playing better.

Lack of depth hurt the most..

Roberson running point, slowed the game down and we lost a 10 point lead. He can't run point at all.

Malik comming in the game, is a mistake, period.

Q, is giving us crap at the SG spot..

Blazers bench hurt us.. we are just think right now..
Roberson - had 2 steals - that isn't too bad. ??? I don't get the game so until Cosmic returns and puts the games up, I am stuck.

My question : For a 3rd string shooting guard, how is Roberson doing. (Remember, he isn't a point guard and was the 15th man on te roster.)

I thought Greg Oden looked horrible--so much different from Ohio Stats. He didnt have to move far from the basket in college and now looks much slower in the pros. He has no offensive touch or moves. We'll have to wait and see now. When a big guy like that has something with his knee--hes better off losing as much weight as he can go with.

When I went to the Knicks/Celtics, luckily I saw none of that nonsense or else I would have had to crack some skulls. What I did see was a bunch of guys going through normal pre-game slow motion shooting and some stretching. That was pretty much everyone on both teams except for 3 guys. David Lee, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. All players warm up differently so it's not a knock on anyone but it was interesting to watch how hard they worked before games

A center shooting 3's of course would be another story. PG's shooting half-court shots is another.

I didn't even see the game, and I can already tell you why Tim Thomas was pulled for Malik. I would say something along the lines of his old fugaziness. I thought maybe, just maybe, after having a tad of playoff success in the west, he'd be a harder worker, but this hasn't been the case at all. Tim is STILL lazy as sheeeeot and doesn't do much on defense. He probably got pulled for defensive reasons.

Malik was absolutely awful yesterday. The decision to insert him into the game was the only bad move by MDA last night.

he and mda seem to have a lot of rapport though. the camera isolated on a conversation about strategy they were having during a stop in play

my god yes. he looked like a second-rounder from another country, who was only taken for being immense.

It normally takes a full year to recover from something like this. If I'm Portland I'm not concerned at this moment. If he doesn't show progres than I'm concerned.

i wasn't too impressed with his post-game comment. it went along the lines of, "i missed 2 dunks which doesn't normally happen so i decided i better stop shooting."

-David Lee just scores off Duhon passes.

This is a good thing. NOW we can depend on Lee actually doing something he's good at. Moving without the ball, as opposed to being relied on as a main scorer. It's also good that Chris Duhon has found a main target.

He was shooting 3's. He even made one and then pointed at some dude in a suit at the sideline and laughed. All he was doing was dribbling between his legs and launching 3's. Tim Thomas was also there taking mid-range shots.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

shallow water is what he excels at... that's how i want to see D Lee playing... grabbing rebounds, treading in shallow water & getting easy buckets at the rim... he's an awesome finisher... i don't like when i see him taking midrange jumpers.
