I'm really feeling worse about the Mets than I have in a long time. There is NOTHING to root for! Blowing the Santana game tonight was brutal.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

yeah, they are done and the sad part is that their farm system sucks too. they even @#$%ed up with f mart who is more like a side street produce the way he is playing. so this is basically the team we are stuck with for years to come unless we trade the big boys. i have disenfranchised from them like i did 6 years ago with that mo vaugn experiment. football is soon so that is great. i am rooting against the phillies now. cant stand them and their fans. those barbarians killed someone outside their stadium bar! that tells you how much the world is unfair.

castillo sprains an ankles going down some stairs.

neise rips apart his leg on a warmup pitch.

the orange and blue is CURSED...

Let me say that they should keep Angel Pagan in the lead off spot and starting in C for a LONG time.
This guy is made for this stadium.

Maybe we can move Reyes to the two hole

saw that last night with castillo. i was shocked and it told me that this year is done. also sf giants are hitting their stride as well as the braves so we wont get wild card anyway. we need to rest and try to recoup for 2010.

pedro had a good game with the phillies. if pedro continues the trend, i bet miniya will fell even more heat because pedro wanted to sign with the mets first. miniya is digging his grave. love it.

what a bad off season, almost like like season. no new starting pitcher or catcher ( screwing up with molina really hurts). they did get bay which could turn out to be good but lost beltran for maybe a third of the season and getting into a war of words with him and his agent. well, i guess its closer towards minaya and manuel getting fired.

well, he is better than anyone else on our roster with catchers who aren't that good or not ready yet. i think blanco sucks and i like thole but he needs a little more time.

yea, blanco sucks yet his ops was not much lower than Molina's. add to the fact that blanco is superior to molina in every other aspect. also, by not signing molina they dont have to waste 5mil per yr for 2 yrs. it was a good move not getting molina, same with piniero.

good point with molina but molina is an experienced catcher who does well with pitchers and call good games which is different from any catcher we have. santos was awful! as far as piniero goes, our starting pitchers are in dire straits. i like maine but will he stay healthy? pelf is so inconsistent that we can not rely on him. dont mention ollie! pineiro has his flaws but i think he is a better answer than what we have. i do like the mike jacobs signing tho who is still young and a power hitter. he is only two years removed from hitting 30 hrs in the nl. had a difficult time in the al but he wont face as many big name pitchers in the nl.

now we signed barajas to a one year deal which is fine with me until thole gets experience in aaa. i still think our rotation is very weak and would like them to take a chance on bedard. besides our pitching which could turn out to be abig deal, i thought the mets did alright this off-season. we got bay and a decent 1st baseman with jacobs as well as an experience catcher with barajas. i wish we could trade to get uggla and get rid of castillo. but that is a pipe dream.

where are all the mets fans???? you guys should psyched - they're the hottest team in baseball right now and dont even have beltran back yet. john maine pitched lights out last night and it seems like manuel has learned how to manage again as the mets just swept the dodgers. mets are now 13-9 and atop of the nl east going into the wknd series with the 2nd place phillies.

why no love on the mets thread? i mean even mr met found his mrs:

well, they are doing well at home, which is great since i said before they need to use that park as an advantage against their opponents. i am still skeptical about them, particularly the pitching. i am not worried about bay. he will hit his stride. he is a power hitter and he has a bad streak. in june and july we will be forgetting that this has happened. however, perez stinks, santana looks human this year and pelfrey is experiencing some pain already. not great.

Looks like we're already in the offseason again- Should we start talking about 2011?

not until we get rid of this culture of mediocrity. it starts by getting rid of manuel and i would like minaya to go to. we look light years behind pretty much all of the teams in the division as far as talent in the present and future. for the next couple of years at least, being a mets fan is not going to be pretty.

Remember this, if a player dribbles in front of you, 95% of the time he's gathering himself to take a jumper
put ur hands up and play him close.

If he holds the ball, he's figuring out the best direction to go around you, which ever way the help defender won't get to in time.

if bease puts his head down with out dribbling and you give him room, he'll pull up on you. If he dribbles but doesn't go any where, he's gathering himself to shoot the jumper. The only time he goes to the rim is when he has a step on you, and your flat footed..

check it out in the 2nd half
