It's pretty goddamn funny that you're doing exactly what you claim to hate reporters for doing.

Making stuff up and pretending that it's true.

Oh the irony.

It was his anniversary. End of story. I don't see whats so wrong with spending your anniversary with the person you married. And with all the opportunities these guys have to mess around with women... I'm surprised she doesn't have him on lockdown all summer.

Seriously...some of you guys go overboard.
God forbid if he was at a relative's funeral or something I bet there would be one of you who wouldn't give a damn and say something like "he's relatives dead! missing camp wont change that!" just for arguement's sake.

And we'd be right too.

Actually I didn't see any mention that it was his anniversary, only that it was a planned vacation that he refused to change.

If Curry wants to work alone, let him work alone. This four days of breakfast with meet and greets is not making or breaking the season.

Here's a quote from Berman's story -

Right! Does that mean that they're going on the exact date on the anniversary or *around* that time. That only says the purpose of the vacation if for the anniversary. That part was never clarified... what's the actual anniversary date?

Ok, the team win total in two years is a whopping 55 games!

The MSG minister or propaganda tends to slant towards the positive and basically when knick talking heads speak its usually not a factual statement.

Beat writers have to have mostly a credible rep or the players won't cooperate . There is the check and balance. If a player loses his cred, he is toast.

The Writers that have spewed hate in the team the last few years in the face of the offended homer has proven to more correct than not.

Lets all just chill out and hold judgement until the season starts.

But its fair game to be critical of current trends not because of words but because of actions. Until the Knicks prove otherwise, they are all talk up until now.

All Berman said was Eddy was not coming because he has a trip planned. If Berman thinks thats wrong he has a right. It ain't like Eddy lead the team to a winning record and gets a free pass.

These arguments happen every summer, the Haters vs. Homer thing is really a war of hope vs. fact.

That's right. The haters hope the Knicks will lose and the homers know for a fact that they will win.

When it comes to this team you have to be able to at least recognize that with each season the level of expectations changes. With LB, it wasn't like anyone was expecting a championship. We were hopeful for establishing a winning culture, developing the kids and hopefully a playoff birth. Last year after the LB debacle, we just wanted to build a base, some confidence, chemistry and some kind of identity. We wanted to see the team build towards winning ball and hopefully a playoff birth. This year we want winning ball and a playoff birth at minimum. No one here should be looking for anything more or less than what this team is realistically capable of.

You say that you're a true Knick fan so i'm assuming that you would have the teams best interests at heart and above all things want this team to succeed. RIGHT? You want to see this team make the playoffs and get past the 1st rd? You want to see Zach and Eddy mesh and for this team to improve and start smacking some teams around for a change, right?

No matter what you may think of the players, Isiah or Dolan, you want to see the Knicks get back to winning ball and restore the pride to this franchise, right? This is all we want and the hopefulness is not a negative. It's based on the concern and love we have for our team. ANY true fan wants that more than anything for their team. So when I look for reasons why I believe this team can succeed it's not some warped view, it's a FAN'S point of view.

Zach can play and so can Eddy, so I'm expecting that they'll be professionals and play their hearts out for this team and that they want to succeed. I expect that they'll make what ever changes and sacrifices they need to make it work. I don't think they'll have to change or sacrifice much in order to make this work, so this is my reason for being optimisic. They just need to do what they do best and make sure to do what Isiah instructs them to do and I don't believe that will be very hard to do. So I would expect that you and all the Knick fans here would be pretty happy going into this season. Knowing that we have improved chances for success this year.

While I think that the Knicks will be a better team, partly because of off-season moves and partly because some of their younger players will continue to improve, other teams in the east have also gotten better. Charlotte got Jason Richardson, Boston got Ray Allen, and Orlando got Rashard Lewis. I think we can do it, but it isn't going to be a cake walk.

zach measures up with richardson and allen and lewis.
we were better than last year's record as we lost lee, qrich and crawford for the final stretch, not to mention franchises pouting.

They are all back and we have zach.

And we were better than all of those teams last year (orlando made the playoffs, so maybe not them, but zach is better than rashard and they lost darko (haha, darko may suck, but he is a 7 footer that played defense).

So, pulling the "other teams got better too" card still doesn't explain why so much pessimism.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

There's going to be a LOT of parity in the East this year. We're solidly in the pack of up and coming teams. To me there's no reason to think that we're behind these teams. I think we're right there with all of them.
I predict that there won't be any teams that run away with the Conf. It's gonna be close.

So far Orl made a big addition with R. Lewis. Bos with Ray Allen. Tor with Delfino and Kapono.
Then you have us with Zach. Orl was already a good defensive team so adding an offensive player was a smart move and doesn't hurt them. Bos, Tor and NY all added Offense and really didn't do anything to improve the D, which was likely their biggest weaknesses. Wash is actually the worst defensive team along with Mil. Det, Cleve, Chi & Orl were the best defensive teams.

The Knicks will need to step up their defense a bit, but really a lot of the problem starts on the offensive end. We must lower the TO's and wasted possessions. With a more efficient offense, we'll be able to keep teams from running on us as much and that will help the D. More made shots and FT attempts slow the game down so we can set up on D. Also since a larger % of our shots will likely be coming from our high % players like Curry, Zach, Lee, Q, & Steph etc. This should help a good deal. Heck, even a guy like Balkman who will still get a lot of dunks and putbacks should help. I'm hoping that Jamal has a better year shooting than last year, which saw his % dip. I also expect that his FGA's will drop a bit too, cuz he was taking too many shots last year for such a low % shooter.

jkidd, vince, rj, magloire, krstic

They'll be a great rebounding, half court and running basketball team, but how good will they be defensively is my only question?

I think overall our division is tougher and will make it more difficult for us to come out of it. Toronto is going to be damn good. Boston if they stay healthy, they'll be causing major problems and then Philly plays hard every night so we have no cakewalk and no room for error whatsoever.
