Honestly this shouldnt even be an arguement. The man call Jay-Z lame and says hustle music is better than lyrics. Who the **** says that? I know hustlers that say rap is trash right now. Shit is not even hustle music **** is bubble gum trash. The music is redundant and lame.
Lil Wayne has lyrics (never said he was not a good rapper) but to compare him to Jay-Z is stupid. I feel like I am arguing against my lil brother with this.
Jay-Z has classics. Nobody is going to remember "Stuntinng like my daddy" 5 years from now, but I bet you can find someone that can recite "Can't knock the hustle" word for word. Jay-z rap about more than the streets. His albums show the progression in his life to where he is at now. You actually think Lil Wayne still selling bricks? Lil Wayne is in college no where near selling drugs, maybe he still has friends that do it but he not trying to get knocked for drug laundering. Come on fam us ya head.

Cash Money owns their record label. Same way Suge owned Death Row.
DO your homework before you spew that ignorance. And for the last time, hip hop is the voice of the streets -- they aint beatboxing no more dawg. They shooting and cooking crack.
It's 2007
You act like they never did that in the 90s. The problem though is that they are exploiting shooting & cooking crack like it is a good thing. Selling that lifestyle like it is glorious. Young adults eat it up and get influenced by the fantasy of how great that lifestyle is which in reality isn't great at all. 50cent admitted it was worth it and he is successful. Rather than making music trying to get people to avoid that lifestlye or change from that lifestyle. People will allways pay for the details of that lifestyle and other poeples experiences through music but don't sell it like its a great lifestyle.
Send that complaint to the Movie Industry.

One of the main problems with the rap game now, is its sutarated with too many former hustlers or guys who are only in the game for the money and not for the art. There aren't too many more true artists in the game that are innovative, creative and push the art to another level.
The drug game has for the most part dried up, so rap has becaome the new hustle. on one hand its good to see young men making money legally, but on the other hand the art has suffered tremendously.
The rap game now dumbed-down and simple. People are using 2,3 and 4 syallables now "Hey bebe", "This is why I'm hot", "Its going down." The game is stagnant and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon of the latest trends and just following them.

You have to admit its something when a predominantly southern rapper holds the throne. New York offer sales to rappers. But when the south is outselling New York, that just hurts your feelings doesn't it.
I know. I know.

“I don’t like what he’s saying about how he had to come back because hip hop’s dead and we need him,” he says. “What the f*** do you mean? If anything it’s reborn, so he’s probably having a problem with that. You left on a good note, and all of the artists were saying, ‘Yo, this is Jay’s house. He’s the best.’ Now he comes back and still thinks it’s his house. But we fu**ed bit**es in your bed already. It’s not your house anymore and I’m better than you.”
“Who don’t? [to friends in the background] Ay-yo, am I better than Jay? [friends laugh and nod]. I ain’t got nothing to do with who he is. I’m better than him, though. I’m 24 years old… The dude’s like…? It’s scary. I’m 13 years deep with five albums and 10 million records sold

Yea he is 27, but believe what you want to. I can't change ya mind. It's crazy how people get brainwashed nowadays. Lil Wayne will be hot till the end of 2007 then some body else will take over.
Lil Wayne idol is Jay-Z.
Lil Wayne also apologized for his comments he made when he said he was better than Jay-z.
