Collins went after Mello as JJ was getting held back. Wonder what happened as it was off camera

I actually couldn't believe it took the Knicks this long to foul someone hard. Mardy's one of the few players on this team with some pride on D. I feel sorry for him for being drafted by this franchise.

See, that's what I think. Collins is a player with pride, and after Smith's show off double pump dunk he was gonna get fouled hard if he had a fast break. This has been the rule of most defensive minded players with pride. You showboat in a blowout, you might get snuffed later on.

well in a season of excuses and diminishing hope maybe this will somehow bond these guys and light a match under them.

nothing else seems to be doing it...

Can you explain how this will turn the season around when several Knicks players will miss at least 2 or more games 1 of them being the MESSIAH Jeffries.

To be fair to Mardy, Smith was going to get fouled hard like that afer his show off dunk not too long before.

Nate is in my view the one who made it THAT much worse. He went up in Smith's face pushing him away, which was just the wrong way to handle that.

BIG TIME suspensions coming for a lot of players

Exactly how I saw it. Nate escalated it by jumping in Smiths face and shoving him. That Sucker punch by Carmelo after everything was starting to calm down was totally un caled for.

Ok, so who's going to be out for a while? Nate. Collins. Jeffries. Anyone else? Don't care about the Nuggets, but Melo and Smith are obviously going to be out the longest. They landed two very loud punches.

From what I saw, Nate, Mardy, JJ will all miss big time. Frye got knocked down at the begining and Anthony almost took him out then, but Frye stayed down and got up when Melo walked away. Lee was in the middle as a peacemaker, he may get a game.

Melo and Smith are gonna get ROCKED. Both threw and landed punches.

All I got to say is, Isiah, why didn't you leave Steph out there?!?

If I was the players I would HOPE the low end is 2 games. I think most of the main players involved are looking at 5-7 games.

When Jared J's jersey was being pulled, it showed that he's possibly the skinniest man alive.

Smith lost it too later. Nate was wrong, but Smith went nuts on him too.

Did you see...was that Jerome James(?)...who the bench was trying to hold back from trying to get involved? They kept pulling on his warm ups, or something.

I think it was Cato. He left the court with the other 10.

I think Nate will get in trouble because of his rep. Other then that the knicks players won"t get too much time if anything....

In seriousness, I think Nate will get 7 games, Mardy 10 games and maybe 7 for Jefferies. Unfortunatly I have a real bad feeling about this. This was the first major thing after the Palace brawl. This is gonna be really ugly.

I think him chasing Melo the way he did is gonna hurt him alot.If he chased him for a couple steps, he would be fine. He chased him across the court with players, refs and coaches pulling at him.

I don't know. Is there even a rule against "chasing a player"?

What would he have done if all of MSG security weren't riding his legs, shirt, and anything else they could grab like JVG? Sure, he didn't actually throw or land any punches (from what I saw) or grab Melo by the neck and pop his head off... But he tried his hardest to do everything up to that point. Somehow I don't think Stern is going to be kind.

Was good to see so much fire from him, though. Want to see it go towards the Knicks winning whenever he gets back from suspension.

I bet Stern falls back on something along the lines of intent and the fact he cahsed him for so long, and provoking the fight. On top of that he wasn't even the one that was punched, it was Mardy.
