It's sad though cuz I remember the day IT got him I was all hyped up. I bought all three newspapers just to see the back page headlines and after all the times Scott Layden tried to get him and struck out to see IT get him was a dream come true. However now its starting to grow into a nightmare and it is sad that Stephon looks like he don't want to be a Knick.

ooooo Larry just said Steph was 0-7 with 3assists in 41mins, got the ball all the time, i ran the plays for him, it was just one of those nights

"the plays." Not anything that Steph is used to with team, just some weird plays that got him bad shots. Translation: this is all your getting, Steph.

I wonder if Larry realizes how impossible it is to trade Stephon?

How many more games is Larry going to throw away trying to expose Steph? 50?

Let's start with Curry and Frye. Since they're the future of the franchise and all?

Then, here's a crazy idea, how about Crawford, the guy who led us in scoring in 4 of our 7 wins and led 4th quarter charges in two other games.

Marbury obviously has to start as long as he's here, and he is a good player, he's just not going to be our leader.

SF is the problem spot, but I would stick with Ariza unless we get something better in a trade.

G - Marbury
G - Crawford
F - Ariza
F - Frye
C - Curry

I think this is pretty obvious. Even Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy, who never watches the Knicks came up with this lineup in about week 2 of the season. This is hands down our starting lineup. Only a senile old man, or someone who is trying to force a trade, would not start these five.

Does it have any meaning for you that those 5 guys were the major minute getters tonight?

Marbury has some serious problems with his head.

Here's reason no. 1 that I hate Larry Brown:

the Magic starting lineup had 80pts. The Knicks starting lineup had 20pts. This isn't a fluke either, this is a trend all season.

Start the best players. It's simple. Or at least I thought it was.

this is typical larry brown stuff, it will all pay off once the knicks start carrying out his system well, then we'll be a very good team,

This is not typical LB stuff, we are way past that point this team as played badly for 10 games, this mess is not getting any better, because he hasn't even settled on a starting lineup and has not shortened the rotations, he constantly plays the worst players like Q, now Steph is playing poorly, this mess lands right on LB's lap.
He can not get every single player he wants he has to work with what he is given and make his magic, not cry to the media and IT that he doesn't have the right pieces.
Look at Phil Jackson and the Lakers, granted they have Kobe, but they are winning and the team plays with alot of heart and hustle, along with a with not giving up when times are tough.
This team is just going through the motions for 3 quarters then try to make a push in the fourth, when it is too late. I saw better effort out of this team during training camp, but this is pathetic and disappointing to say the least, it very hard to stomach how things have turned out for this team.

well, we saw a glimmer of hope tonight, although curry is probably back on IR again. that was one of the better performances of any knick in a number of years. key is to get is bodyweight right so that his lower limbs can handle it. even 10 pounds would help take some pressure off. we have hope with curry and frye and its encouraging that craw is starting to play a little more consistent, but that is also a work in progress. we have 0 SF, we need to get rid of q, we need some defensive players. were always down 15 points 15 minutes into the game--they have to figure out why.

Does it have any meaning for you that they were down by 10 by the time they got in the game? And that they are always down ten by the time they get in the game and they're always playing from behind?

That is because Kobe is a leader both on the court and in the locker room. That is a word that is not in Marbury's vocabulary.

Let it be known, that I was one of the few defenders on this board of keeping Marbury.. I often said, that he could be a winner if he had the right environment and coach, key players etc.

I could never have been more wrong... This guy is a bum! Thats it I've had it with him.. how can you have so much talent, and be a career loser? This cat needs to go, 4 real... I don't agree w/ everything that LB does as a coach, in particular his rotation and starting 5, but I can't say that he is wrong in his coaching philosophy. A PG is supposed to bring leadership, not just rack up assist and score a few points...

Then to hear his locker room answers.. this guy really doesn't get it!

The Starting Lineup is supposed to set the tone for the team. Our starting lineup scored 20pts all night and shot 6 for 34. 6 for 34, that's like 17%.

Get a clue, Larry. Borrow one from Mark Aguire if need be.

actually it is typical LB stuff.

In 1997, Brown's first year in Philadelphia, the 76ers were 6-19 after 25 games - one game worse than his Knicks are now. His 1993-94 Pacers started 10-16. His 1988-89 Spurs started 7-20. And, as Brown often reminds people, he was nearly fired when his 1981-82 Nets started the season 6-16 (before finishing with a 44-38 record).

"We lived through the Clippers," Shelly Brown said. "We did the Clippers, Indiana, we had this record. And notoriously, his teams kick in at All-Star break.

"And the first few months are," she said, pausing, "tough. I was trying to think of a nicer word. I mean, they're tough. And he always says, 'No, it's never been this bad.' But it has."

Generally, things do improve as midseason approaches, as Brown's former assistants and players attest. The Knicks are also young.

"When Coach came in, he knew it would be a matter of time; it wasn't going to be an immediate fix," Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich, a longtime friend, said. "A system would be established, roles would have to be established, and that doesn't happen in 25 games."

Patience.
