The front office wants to trade they say but talk themselves out of it each time I feel. Oh we can't give this pick up we can use it in a future trade. We can't give up this player because he might improve .. at some point they are going to have to. If Leon Rose was in charge of the Bucks or Boston would they have traded for KP, Holiday, and Dame ? I doubt it. Only trade they would have done was that below market trade for Beal that Phoenix pulled off.

Love JVG, but dropping Jax was a huge win by itself. Always going to be in good hands with Breen - pairing him with anyone neutral and you're going to be fine. Neither Doc nor Doris were grating on my nerves like Jax or Jefferson. Maybe it's because they were pretty complimentary of the Knicks last night, but I was into it. Not Breen/Clyde but just as good as any other crew.

I like happy endings ( and not just the Robert Kraft kind ) I mean it would have been nice for KP to have been the returned prodigal son. Anyway let's just hope the team gets players that will help round out the roster to make us deadly from different angles. Brunson and Julius ISO needs some more variety. Haven't been overjoyed with the past off-season. Hope they make some trades

KP also signed an extension. You said superstars miss games, KP misses seasons with one bad break.
Keep in mind we are all morning morning quarterbacking after a strong game. One in which the Knicks despite three of their starters having bad games still had a chance to win.

But I will concede that I would not have been disappointed if we were able to add KP. But nervous about his health yearly.

we had nice pieces to give WSH without needing a 3 way.

Obi, Mitch, Sims, WSH's own pick back, McBride, Rokas, and a 1st could have all been on the table in some combination. Wouldn't have affected us being able to trade for someone like DM later.

This isn't monday morning QBing, been calling for KP back for years, but it is what it is. Would have helped if he went anywhere else but our rival!

KP had a big game let's pump the brakes. He's injury prone and highly unlikely he's going to last an entire season, especially if the Celtics make a deep playoff run as expected. But he's in the most perfect easiest situation with that team being the 4th best player. He can just anchor the paint on defense and space the floor on offense. Simple and easy and he's very good at that. If he can by some miracle stay healthy and last into May and June, the Celtics have a great chance but I don't think he can.

WSH didn't want Smart though, he was just rerouted to get BOS another 1st. WSH got Tyus Jones, Muscala and a 2nd rounder for KP. We could have easily beat that.

You mean like he could have been here behind Brunson, Randle, RJ, and or IQ.

I don't get why people think KP needs to play a full season to be worth it, Mitch is gonna miss 20-25 games a year and no one will flinch. KP could play 50-60 games a year like he usually does and it would be a huge weapon if you could have him ready for the playoffs.

After a good night sleep, I feel like this was one of the most flukiest losses ever. Randle (10 missed layup's!) and Brunson are not going to shoot 11/43 and we are not going to go 14/28 from the line. Yet we only lost by 4. It's not a game to get crazy over.

Very encouraged by how RJ played. I know he took some bad shots and ended up 8/20 but he played well overall which is encouraging considering he's been a slow starter. And great game by IQ. Sparked the comeback in the first half and was great in the 4th. I am annoyed he didn't take another shot after hitting that step back 3 with about 5 minutes left. We need to go a better job of getting the hot hand the ball.

And lastly, Tatum is super good. Impossible to guard.

I'm hoping to see better spacing from the starting unit next game. It was one big clusterfunk for most of the night. Also hope to see more ball movement. Too many shot attempts off of ISOs. Nothing wrong with ISO play, as part of a balanced offense.

Call me whatever but I still do not like how KP left. Maybe he's matured. Who really knows. But the cousin is likely still in the picture. It's just not something I would revisit if it were me. KP had a good game and he's a good player in the right situation but I'm not losing any sleep missing out on him.

Yet we'd someone have to trade RJ, IQ ANDDDD picks?... that's not a logical take.

If you're a rebuilding team I'd imagine you'd much rather have Obi, Mitch and their 1st back over a 27 year old career backup PG and a 2nd rounder.

you could have traded Obi and Mitch for KP and started KP and then stagger his minutes so that he didnt play as much with Randle.

KP/Hart/Sims would have been a great trio at C.

For WSH Obi and Mitch would have been much better than Tyus Jones and a 2nd.

Man Jru Holiday guarded Randle very well. Man KP and Holiday would have been great.

KP is in a good situation for his skill set. Last night he was there best player on both sides.
I have no issue when they went after him to the rim. Get him in foul trouble or wear him out.
Did it work? Not really, he came up big at times.

Lets give the defense some credit. They did a good job on Tatum in second half. RJ was on him a good bit.
"starting IQ"........Who ****ing cares, he came in and did a great job. You need the boost from him and he was a big part of the game. If you Start him, you dilute both him and Brunson. His playmaking is still suspect at times.

Randle? He looked like a player who did not play much this summer. He didn't.
Brunson? Maybe the "Allstar, maybe all pro" thing is a small stretch? We hyped him up pretty good. But his play will dictate things. No need to label yet. He looked rusty perhaps had taken needed rest time after Fiba and an over due vacation/honeymoon.
He was brilliant last year under lower expectations. The bar went up on him.

RJ: Kid carried us at times to prevent a blow out. Perhaps we over looked his defense on Tatum and his playmaking. Seems we might just be lulled into incremental growth and not impressed as a fan base.
He seemed to have added more moves to the rim and as noted by Rivers is a strong kid.

Grimes.....I'd like to see more from him and some clutch moments. Im ok with Thibs and co. developing him over the season. He was guarding Tatum also. Not an easy task.

We saw ball movement on the parameter at times. This is why Grimes needs to be there and do his thing. The ball will swing.
Randle gets a rusty pass given his summer. Bottom line is Boston is and will be very good and we about went toe to toe with them. It was a winnable game. They too will improve.

KP: Marci said it well that "I don't hate him anymore" and perhaps its that he has been a ex knick longer than he was one. He also said "While not a great player, he is pretty good when healthy". Nalod agrees there. Randle for all his warts has been a better player and the picks we go, and still will get might have had a better yield in the long run. Make no bones about it, he is on a very good team. Getting Holiday was an improvement over Smart and KP opens things up for them and visa versa.
Brown for them is like a Supermax RJ. Frustrating player with suspect handle. Not a bad player, in fact he is on the cusp but has not crossed over FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY.

Extending IQ: speaking of money, its always about the money!!!!
