The Randle injury was a blessing for Obi. He still does not get much time but that run at the end of the season got him in rhythm to help us in his limited minutes. Obi had
8 Pts
3 Reb
4 Steals
1 Ast
1 Block
In 15 minutes!

Great team win!
2 out of our big three had it going tonight and bench guys stepped up. But most of all our DEFENSE was on! Everyone had good intensity and effort on that side. Thibs team identity.
Feel that will be our foula for wins.
RJ with an FU to haters. Set the time early and got us to good start.
JB continues to show how underrated he is. Looked unstoppable in the interior.
IQ and Hart stepped up on both sides.
Obi with nice dunk highlights.
Ball movement was great.
Biggest game for a team with the home court advantage is the 4th game. So next game is HUGE!
Happy night for Knicks fans.
Go Knicks!

I was thinking the same thing - Obi, even though the minutes are small and the numbers not eye popping, was huge.

On a night when there weren’t the usual 120 points, he was impactful. I know he had a great deflection on defense that turned into a TO for the Cavs.

Everyone should be in a great mood today - awesome win! THAT is how you counter punch. Was worried about the team after the beating we took on Tuesday. Cavs had the momentum. We convincingly ripped that away.

The Villanova Knicks are definitely our Hart (pause for pun) & soul. Brunson makes those fadeaway jumpers look so easy. Hart forces effort and just makes good decisions, plus he only shoots GOOD 3s.

Glad to see RJ come alive! Not super confident he'll keep the shooting up, but have been impressed with the notable improvement on defense since the series started. One thing at a time.

Obi back to looking like a player!

Quickley got involved, even if still on the quiet end of things. Solid all around game.

Mitch and IHart did their thing and didn't allow any easy points at the rim.

Hope Grimes is ok. Staying tuned for updates.

I have never heard the Garden was loud as last night! It was insane! It definitely rattled the Cavs! Not sure if the word 'scared' is the right word but they were shook! Held them to 79 points on 39/21/58 shooting! INSANE DEFENSE!!!

Super proud of RJ! It was gut check time and he answered the call! We don't win this game without him! He was the only one who was hitting shots in that dreadful first half offensively. Loved how aggressive yet smart he played. He didn't just drive to the paint with no plan. And he got into the open court and had some momentum charging layups! And of course hitting threes were a bonus! Fingers crossed his shooting slump is over and he can keep this up! We need him!

Brunson took over the second half. Spida cannot guard him one on one! Nobody can! Watching him do this thing is so much fun! Also made some nice passes to Hartenstein for dunks. Randle shot poorly and it's concerning. They were his typical shots and a lot of them are wide open especially the threes. But the dunk over Allen was sick! He needs to knock those down! IQ played a lot better. Made some shots and played insanely tough defense on Garland. Rob dominated the glass! Push around and bullied Allen! Hope Grimes is OK but Hart brought his usual hustle and grit. Obi had a huge fourth quarter too! Those dunks are electric!

Game 4 will be tough. Expect the Cavs to adjust and play better. We got to be prepared! Going up 3-1 pretty much gives us the series. Tied 2-2 going back to Cleveland makes it a toss up!

EwingsGlass wrote:Went to the game tonight. Loved the atmosphere. The fans helped win this game. The Cavs were off their game the entire game. Knicks didn’t really play well, the Cavs just played worse. The Cavs missed so many wide open 3s in the first. That’s not good defense it’s poor shooting.

Barrett’s shot was dropping today which is great, but he still looks slow footed. Something’s wrong with him. Fatigue. Something he had the open lane to the layup and got caught from behind with enough time for Garland to set in front of him. That’s dead legs.

Brunson came on and took the game over. That confidence wins this series for us. I called 4-1 and believe it after seeing Brunson tonight.

Knicks lack confidence in their shots. I love the extra pass but not the extra extra extra pass. Need to figure that out. Need to know who has the best shot and when.

IQ is valuable on and off the ball and so much on defense.

Our Centers finish like grade schoolers. No finesse. Allen and Mobley are taking them out of the game offensively but can’t get them out of the box. Knick Rebounds > Cav Rebounds.

I still love Donovan Mitchell. Right decision not to pay that price, but maybe someday he will be a Knick.

Must have been great time - that place was rocking (on my tv ).

Agree we really benefited from Cav brick show but garden crowd really seemed to impact them as well as Knicks.

Thought RJ was moving great - he’s not a quick player (ever) but he was decisive and downhill last night - big thing is he hit some 3’s. Sure that helped his mojo in really solid effort with good passing reads as well.

Julius stood out to me —- good shot selection for most part but a brick fest.

I think (not sure) the gist is we used IQ and Even Hart to set the high screen roll vs Mitch/Randle so,we had a better passer/decision maker taking any passes off the high screen from Brunson.

So if Brunson gave the ball up he was giving it up to someone not named Julius/Mitch

I am so relieved that we won. The second half was mega fun. I hope Grimes is ok. Randle looks more hurt than he is admitting. Good for RJ, he needed to step up and he did. Brunson is unreal. His 20 pts felt like 40 pts

Randle didn’t look hurt when he was out pressuring on D by 1/2 court or on that dunk down the lane —— we’ve seen these shooting & disappearing acts before but hopefully he bounces. Ack.

I missed the Grimes injury - it could be a benefit if he goes to bench and relaxes some coming into the game off bench.

Grimes off the bench with IQ starting. Bring in Deuce with Grimes, IQ and Brunson can go vs Garland and Mitchell size wise.

Randle is still playing back into shape, the all star Randle long range game is something that comes and goes.
One has to hope he gets it the feel back sooner than later.
Not everyone can be spot on at the same time nor do we need it. We need allstar randle to re-emerge.

It seemed like he was walking up and down the court instead of jogging or running.

And how about Mitchell Robinson? He seems like he's been more impactful than either Mobley or Allen. He make huge plays on both ends.

I’m so glad RJ started off strong and had an overall strong game. As the series goes on, it’s getting harder - the coaches are able to pick at more details of each players game. RJ made some good adjustments - and finally, stuck some shots.

Everyone here would also love to see Quickley have a signature game. After that big game vs Boston and great play over the last few weeks of the regular season, he hasn’t gotten in a good groove on the floor. Perhaps it’s the return of Randle and Brunson, or maybe it’s the Cavs D.

We’re doing well enough to win this series and we still have some upside. Overall, our players haven’t played their best yet… and we haven’t executed our team offense to perfection yet either - we still have upside so long as Randle and Brunson get healthier from their ankle and hand woes.

I think we’ve seen great games from Mitchell and Garland already and it’s a bad sign that Garland fell off the map coming from his game 2.

He looked explosive at times. He had a couple of dunks/attempts that made it seem like the ankle isn't an issue. It's reasonable to expect his stamina to be off tho.

Now wonder our boys had a bad showing in game 2. They were literally having the souls sucked out of them every second they spent in that hell hole.
