What idiot agent has their player who’s just off an ACL tear, settle for the QO rather than sign an extension, just so he can feel important.

A potential superstar who has trouble staying on the court, hasnt made an all-star team. Still had work to do on rounding out his game. Whose shelf life as a star might be limited because of his height, frame. I dont blame KP for wanting to leave, he probably has only so many years at peak performance. Didnt like how he let his brother run his mouth as much as he did.

We get DSJ. If he can play well enough to make an all-star team, and run the show, its worth it.
Dont know how long the other players will stick, or of they are even in the team's plans. Like that we got Matthews though.

If we get a high pick, I trust Perry to make a good one. If we have two high picks, when was the last time we had that? Never. I like that. One more shot at Zion.

This is the kind of deal, as others have mentioned that has to be followed up with big time FA signings if the Knicks want to make a run in the next couple of years. We have youth, picks, cap room. The table is set, up to Perry amd Mills to cook up something good.

Glad to see you back...

Thanks

Good to see you back Gustav!!

Thanks Hope Perry/Mills nail the follow through on this deal.

The picks have limited value with both being in the future and being for a team that's going to have Doncic and Porzingis and a great shot at keeping him.

This deal is obviously because they think they can get 2 stars this summer, which I don't really believe. But from a value perspective...this deal is incredibly horrific. Basically an assortment of mediocre pieces for a potential franchise player.

This!!!!

Matthews is exactly the type of player we need at the SF rotation. He is a strong mentor for Dotson and Knox and fits a needed role.

The team is better structured right now and has stronger defensive pieces.

KP has told the Mavs he plans on signing a QO so no guarantee he stays. Adding the firsts makes it better

West is deep, no guarantee they will be successful nor is it a guarantee that KP will resemble the guy that had that one good month for us...

Im hearing we may cut Jordan and Matthews

Yeah Perry has a lot of work to do. He must be confident about KD and kyrie or leonard. I hated the deal originally but getting back good draft compensation has warmed me up to it

It's been reported Porzingis told the Mavs he would only sign the QO, which was probably what he intended to do with the Knicks anyway, which in turn scared the Knicks, who knew already there was trouble in paradise with Janis and Porzingis.

I mean, this only shows Porzingis seems to have a set plan that might not even include the Mavs.

True. He can walk after signing the 1 year QO. If that happens then this deal can be huge for us now and the future

I'm not saying that we are going to target AD, but in theory I would think we have a better chance of getting him today. We could offer our prospects, DSJ, and multiple firsts now

1. His agent is his brother.

2. His brother has proven before to be problematic and have huge control on Porzingis.

3. Porzingis and his brother seem to have a plan as on where they want to take his career to. Considering this is a player's league, even with the injury, Porzingis has lots of power. Just consider how people are calling the Mavs champs and Porsingis has yet to return to play this season.

This deal came together quickly. Either the Knicks or Janis must've orchestrated this a few days in advance. Can't wait for more leaks to come out about what led to this.

i hated the deal BUT getting multiple firsts makes me much happier. We still need to own this offseason but i feel better

This is where Perry and Mills will really have to earn their salaries.

They were suggestin as much on ESPN, that a deal might have been in the works for some time, and tbe Knicks might have leaked this story in advance of the deal, which isnt out of the realm of possibility. It happened so fast.

A player like Doncic, with his height and court vision could extend a player like KP's career. With the Knicks, KP would probably be carrying more of the load.
