Melo came up big on both ends. Everything else doesn't matter.

Maybe that will snap him out the funk he has been in the last few games. I wonder if he is hurt. Tonight his energy was real low

They were huge. Both guys need to be in the rotation. Plumlee just brings it.

Add JH too. Lot of fans wanted thibs. To my eyes wolves defense sucks and if they didn't have KAT (who is amazing) they'd be putrid

Yeah. I listened to the locked on podcast with the guy that covers the Wolves. He said the d is essentially the same as last year. Both guys did say that the Wolves needed time, were very young, and had been allowed to play the wrong way for a long time.

Don't forget Jennings tonight finally playing starter minutes (Rose was benched in 4th) and setting the tone for the team. This may be the emergence of Jennings on this team.

I agree with Jennings getting more minutes. With CLee out a few games with the ankle maybe... maybe he will?

Kind of ugly...but a W is a W.

We need to work on the offensive end...a few good moments, but we don't seem to have an identity on that end of the court. I don't see our PG's putting people into position to score for the most part, and we frequently fall into a 1/1 pattern.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

His best game of the season in my book.
Clearly he shot poorly.
Clearly he missed many in the 4th in a critical run and was a -17 for the night.

However he played within the team's offense virtually the entire game. He let Jennings be the lead guard, he allowed KP to take over. He picked his spots.

Fantastic game from Melo. Was not going to complain even if he missed that big shot.

The Knicks do fall asleep and play with low energy too often. They can get complacent. Not sure what it is exactly. Going to wire after being up 17 is unacceptable. This was a win that felt like a loss.

Anyway, I'll focus on the positives. Our rookies look great this year. Hernangomez, Kuz and now tonight Plumlee really stood out. Ironically I felt we missed Noah a little today because of defending Towns. This is exactly when you need a Noah, He should be playing the Plumlee role from tonight. The team is way less isolation heavy when Noah is out. For the most part this team played the right way. There was 6-8 minutes where they played brain dead. Rest was very solid.

What I'm hoping is they can build some consistency in how they run their offense. For whatever reason the offense on this team trickles into their defense. Better they play on offense, better they defend. May be that they have to play less of a transition scrambling defense when they make more shots. Or just players who are offensive minded play harder on defense when their shot is in.

Towns was a monster. We made him look better than he is, because we got beat up by the likes of Adams and Kanter, you had to know Thibs saw that and took full advantage. Credit to Towns though, he has the complete package of inside and outside game. Hurt us more inside today. On our end, Porzingis was fantastic. What a player. Better defensive impact than Towns and tonight moved the ball a few times like a guard. LOVE the drive and kick outs by Porzingis. I'm biased as a Knick fan, but I think Porzingis has more versatility and all around talent even though Towns is the slightly better (more effective on a consistent basis) offensive player right now.

Jennings is not a half court point guard..He excels in transition..Defenses play a lot differently when Melo and KP are the only options in the half court..They were taking tough shots with only Jennings in there..I get why Jennings was out there because he hit a couple of threes but you can't take Rose out, he spreads the floor...
