But what we saw last night I've only seen from towns one time where he just repeatedly set up in the post and just dominated with extension power and touch. Usually its his d that is superior if he had 3-4 games like this if he didn't recklessly play at times he would've held number 1all year.

That's what I observed earlier, his extension. He may be harder to stop than OK4 because of it. He could be fairly unblockable whereas OK4 seems to overcome height with dexterity which is easier in college.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

im back to agreeing with you again BRIGGS. for most of the yr, towns has played the team role of defender and rebounder. last nite he showed he could be a go to player

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

i have been sold on towns from the first minute i saw him play even as i had my doubts from the beginning about okafor from the first minute i saw him play. i am REALLY looking forward to seeing okafor play this evening in order to have my mind changed about him.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I wonder how the pros, who don't get influenced by a single view him? He plays in college next to another 7 footer on a huge team. Granted he is impressive but what he did last nite won't work in the NBA until he grows. Thus, can't just say he is ready. Oka4 has far better footwork and is fundamentally excellent. When Oka4 is "lazy" or is not mentally in it he can't hide it like Towns can because Duke is not as deep. Towns don't play tired, he gets plenty of rest. Also, defense can collapse on Oka4 where towns is not as covered.

OKa4 has more skill and is a better player. At 19 both of them are not physically mature. They are playing at the highest level for their age and perhaps one has a better motor and focus. Like I said, Oka4 is called on to do more, so his mistakes are more apparent.

Im not knocking the kid and have not clear preference of either. Perhaps the decision is really in the ping pong balls so even Phil need not worry too much.

Yeah, I just don't want us to fall to #4.

He was extending over a 6'5" guard and another guy generously listed at 6'10". Towns had a good game, but let's remember that he did it against a team with a significant size disadvantage .

And one of the best teams in the country. The other day someone was saying Kentucky faced weaker SEC teams all year. When will it end?

Going to be a great game between Kentucky & Wisconsin who are even better than ND

Yup UK are going to have to play a heck of a lot better than they did against ND if they are gonna beat Kaminsky & Decker

Im a big towns fan but last night was the first time i saw him literally carry the team which was very impressive. Notre dame outplayed kentucky but they couldnt stop towns at all. Its gonna be hard choosing between towns russell and okafor since all 3 look like future all stars

Towns showed last night why I think he's ever so slightly ahead over Okafor. Towns is the #1 pick. It's close -- 1a and 1b -- but I've liked Towns better for awhile now...Never for once thought he was devoid of offensive skill. In fact, in a lot of ways, I think he may have more suppressed offensive skill than Okafor. He's just used differently. Can't knock the kid because Kentucky has a much bigger/deeper frontcourt. Look at last night -- he was in and out of the lineup with foul trouble in that 1st half especially, but then 2nd half--when he kept going down in the post, pinning his man down and demanding the ball--he was an absolute MONSTER (he showed flashes of that in the 1st half too really, before picking up his 2nd foul). His hook shots with both hands are 100% NBA ready and damn near unstoppable. He was even turning in directly on the basket and missed a few point blank bunnies shooting regularly... Think about that in the NBA when a team continually calls his number as opposed to how Kentucky's been using him. This kid's a dynamite player now and will only get better as a pro, maybe even right away...Plus, I've been saying it--the rest of his offensive skill will present itself too -- his mid-range game is gonna be a true weapon in the NBA. Then if you play him too close, he can put it on the floor and go around guys. Then there's the passing (good passer out of the post--saw that last night as well -- how 'bout that downcourt homerun pass he made to someone streaking to the basket?? Right on the money), the FT shooting (huge plus, so rare for a young college big)...Oh yeah almost forgot, then there's the stuff that he's known for -- the rebounding, the rim-protection. Athletic 6'11"+ and may not be done growing. Imagine that..Wow.

I want Towns and don't need to see anymore. At this point I HOPE Okafor outplays him from here on in. Let Okafor go off and win the Tourney. Who cares.. I want a shot at Towns if we don't get the #1 pick. I can only hope and pray that if we get pick 2 or 3, that Towns is there.

Towns/Kanter
Towns/Ajinca (more realistic)

Either combination -- gimme two frontcourt pieces like that to go along with Carmelo Anthony and we fill in around that -- some defensive players, another couple of scorers/shooters, another rebounder or two, and some kind of a PG upgrade.

Duke and Gonzaga both play in the ACC.

The one thing I love about Towns game yesterday was he was still able to impact the game besides scoring. Now while ND was able to get alot of shots off on him and in the interior in general, alot of those makes were very contested. So to carry the team on offense, make plays for others and be a presence? Hard to pass that up.

The good thing about this draft is that there are at least 4 guys at the top who look like impact players. Its also deeper than they originally thought compared to the overhyped 2014 draft class

Right. Wisconsin is a tougher matchup for Kentucky than Gonzaga is for Duke. Kentucky has had the tougher road to the final 4 thus far

Towns played well but he had a huge advantage inside vs a 6'8 defender. He was able to extend right over a small defender with his first move. Wont get away with that on nightly basis in the nba vs players equal in size. He will have to show a counter move which he didnt have use (if he has one in the bag). We know that ok4 has counter moves. Also, i thought Brey lost that game for ND, by not sending a double team at Towns down the stretch. Make them beat u with a jumper. Cant allow a 6'8 player defend a legit 7'0 by himself.
