A few years ago I dreamed of coming back to New York City, the place of my birth, and on February 23, 2011 that became a reality. This organization has supported me and in return, I want to stay and build here with this city and my team. At this pivotal juncture in my career, I owed it to myself and my family to explore all of the options available to me. Through it all, my heart never wavered.

During this journey I met with some quality organizations who have amazing talent and leadership. I thank them for their consideration, belief in my talent, and opportunity to imagine the possibilities.

I will always remember this chapter in my life. In the end, I am a New York Knick at heart. I am looking forward to continue my career in Orange & Blue and to work with Phil Jackson, a champion who builds championship teams. Madison Square Garden is the mecca of basketball and I am surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.

Right now is a good time to update my ignore lists.

I know this a different situation being that we traded for him, but Melo wants to be here, and still we find reasons to knock him. Yes, he signed for a ton of money, but again, with athletes its always about the money. Think Stat comes here if not for the money? Allan Houston signed for 100 million, way above his market value yet the guy is still beloved around here. Melo signs to remain a Knick, the same franchise that the media sh#ts on, and other star players seem to look down upon, yet he's still getting killed by some.

I get the feeling that most around here would rather have a team full of late first rounders, retreads and castoffs, 25 win seasons, and cap space for FA's that will toy with us and eventually turn us down because we are not the high level franchise that we think we are.

Both have work to do. Phil needs to get another big body. melo i would like him to work more on his defense and getting those around him to play better as a unti/ thsoe are two of his biggest issues and i feel if he works on that he will join players like lebron and durant as teh top players

100% agree except - and maybe this just me - but I don't think Melo has to be Lebron. If he can just become more of a complete player, then that's all we need.
