While Copeland is showing us that he can play the stretch 5 role as a skilled F/C
Forget what he cannot to on DEF, he is trying, his ability to be a offensive threat like when Kmart was playing the 5 opens things up for the entire lineup
Having 5 threats (even some minimum) vs playing with 1 that is not even a threat (Chandler) is signifigant
on top of it, Chandler's DEF has been horrible this year, he hasn't been moving his feet, just like how Westbrook was able to blow by him at the free throw line (pure laziness giving him a lane to drive)

He is a Center, out on the perimeter, on a switch. Against freakin Westbrick. What do you think is gonna happen lol

he could have close him out at the free throw line, but he did not close that gap by moving his feet
His DEF has been very inconsistent the entire year
That is why the Knick's had been a much better defensive team with Kmart at C than Chandler

agreed + 10000

Pablo need's skilled players that MOVE WELL WITHOUT THE BALL, a reason why Kmart was so successful when was Chandler out
Copeland thrives playing the stretch 4/5 role while being a focal point of the offense and not just a spot up shooter, he makes good decisions

Yes the two of them seem to be very much on the same page. Prigioni is a very good point guard, and I am glad Woody has finally figured it out.

I'm impressed with how well they worked together this half. Before shooting 3s, Copeland dished it to Novak a couple of times, made an effort to get him going and it paid off. At the start of the season Cope wouldn't have done that. Could be the makings of a good tandem. Might be what Novak needs to get going, someone he can count on to get him the ball. Copeland is having a hell of an all around game as well.

I don't think I noticed how good a passer Cope is until Hubie pointed it out. Love Hubie and love that he said he would have gotten a tech on that second phantom foul on Shump.

He is our only REAL PG that has the ability to facilitate, even though he barely can penetrate or defend the position
His ability to LEAD our team with good shot attempts changes the dynamic of our team
However, he needs players that play smart and attack the defense together NOT ISO HEAVY

Will we find a way to keep

JR
Martin
Copeland

they are all capable and deserve more than what we can offer, hope Grunweld pulls of his magic
And Woodson needs to continue to build Cope's confidence for the play offs, and ride this rook, as he can do things that the veterans cannot, SCORE

I would get rid of Camby/Kurt etc to keep those three if possible. I don't think we can keep JR - because he will def get good money. I do hope Woody keeps playing Cope during the playoffs. Like u said he solves our etrenal quest for a third scorer and he has been doing it whenever given an opportunity. I actually like him at the stretch 5.

Agreed, Novak and Copeland didn't work together in the start of the season because they were both playing the F positions without a mobile C
But putting Copeland at C changes everything up, while both were used to spread the floor at the F positions together
Their lack of speed and ability to defend at the F spot is unable to make up for

I edited out the quotes because I thought the bold said Novak and Copeland FYI. I agree, Copeland does pass well, didn't expect it.

I dont like Wilbon
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

IF when Sheed/KMart are healthy Woody should look to cut down on Chandler's minutes and still keep Copeland in the mix. We NEED the offense this kid provides and he is TRYING to play defense.

Berman and Ianzzone both tweeted that KMart is supposed to play Tuesday. Berman also said Sheed worked out on the court today and that Woodson wants him to start doing shooting drills next week.

Bulls fan. And Simmons is an unabashed C's fan. Not crazy about either of them.

Agreed. He helps with some of the scoring when Melo sits.
He is really trying on d. Hopefully Woodson notices. Novak is a weapon but Cope has a lot more dimensions to his game.

He is a triple threat on offense already with a post up game. Doesn't get better than that. On D he has some instincts and he goes hard. That block was sweet.

I'll be the first to admit I didn't watch every game, but that's kind of hard for me since my timezone is GMT+1.
So far this season I have probably missed from 10 to 15 games tops, winning or losing it didn't matter, although ofcourse when the Knicks are playing like this it's that much sweeter

Knicks looking real good out there... Fast-paced game, and the NYK going small is paying dividends...

Liking the way the bench is stepping up, too.

Give us another solid half of this intensity on both ends of the floor, and we'll leave OKC with a W.

GO KNICKS!!!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

How do you watch them? I'll admit I've only seen their national televised games but it seems like its Durants/Westbrook and freethrows for them all game.

Between ESPN/TNT/ABC/NBATV, they're on quite a bit.

I liked them much more last year when Harden was there, but they're fun to watch in general. As Hubie just said, they want to run and score easy baskets in transition. But, yeah, they do get A LOT of calls, especially Durant.
