The issue is that you're dealing with 2 major uncertainties and BOTH have to work out well in order for Shumpert to become just an average offensive player. His knees have to be healthier than they have been so far in his career AND he needs to shoot the ball much better than he ever has. Of course both could happen but I think it's a bad gamble.

Either way the problems with this team is at the core. Adding periferrial peaces to a rotten core of Amare, Melo & Tyson isn't going to get them past Miami

Well then retaining peripheral pieces won't either.

I don't think anyone is saying Shump is untouchable. But JJ is the answer, especially at $6 mil per. Cn you imagine a night spent watching Prigs, Kidd and JJ guarding the perimeter? I can and it's giving me nightmares.

He's got less than half a season left on a contract. We'd be paying him a total of around 2 or 2.5 mil dollars. It's a tough call but I think I'd rather see Redick playing D than Shumpert shooting the ball.

They got Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris and GMs around the league are impressed with Hannigan and his assembling of young talent. Just because those guys weren't getting much burn does not mean they didn't get a gem(s) out of that deal.

Yes I would trade Shumpert for Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris without batting an eye. Then tell Woody to develop them A.S.A.P.

As far as Beno goes he's probably as good as Felton on many nights as a starter.

So sad you'd have no idea how to identify talent before it blew up and was too late.

Ok, so explain to me Gerry West..How do u trade a guy who was one of the premier defenders in his rookie year..He averaged 9.5 pts per game for u as the rook yr...Gallo 6pts per as a rook, DLee 5 pts per as a rook, Wilson Chandler 7 pts per gm...U have witnessed him change games defensively as against Toronto last year and Minny...Shut down Calderon as he was torching Lin...Explain the virtues of trading such a talent for dudes who got packaged for a draft bust?!?!?!?

Feel sorry for Redick, having to share the ball with that backcourt. Also disappointed we didn't get to see a historic lineup of Josh Smith, Ellis and Jennings...

He'll probably endure it for just 25-30gms and most likely he's coming off the bench subbing for one of them(Ellis). Now if they go small ball yeah that's going to be a chore and a half.

Reddick will get plenty of shots. Why? Because he can actually make them.
