Where we picked him no longer matters. His 9 points a game don't count for more if he's picked in the first than in the second round.

If he averaged more than 9pts as a Rookie he'd be considered a Rookie of the Year candidate.

Averaging 9pts on the same team as Melo and Amare is not bad. Spree averaged 15pts rookie year on a terrible GS team

Also Shump shot 29% from 3 his first 28 games

38% since

But if we are to trade Shump watch how much the script gets flipped for Dudley....As of the here and now Dudley is a better "PLAYER" than Shump, so strongly considering the trade based on principle alone I have no qualms with the team justifying making the deal. I do hate we're always dumping young talent but hey I guess we're being consistent here.

Shump will never reach his potential on this team anyway I'm sure we're all aware of this, well the sane are that is.

exactly. a whole lot of double standards here. we traded away youth to win-now and now we are not supposed to trade youth away.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Wilson Chandler averaged 7pts per game his rookie year on a dreadful knicks team

Gallo averaged 6pts

Ariza 5.9pts

He's not going to average more than Dudley's best yrs going forward while playing on Melo and Amar'e's team and with Felton/Earl here. Are you interested in getting rid of Amar'e? No I don't think so and we know Melo is going nowhere anytime soon, therefore you're devaluing an assets based on the emotional attachment.

You have to wait until they are traded to kick dirt at them with some people

You dont think Shump can't average 12 points per game? Even as a rook he took 9 shots for 9 points, the problem is he only hit 3.

By the way we have a scoring SG in JR who covers most of the minutes at SG at 32mins per game anyway.

JR > Dudley(who is a SF)

I mentioned 9 PPG as a shorthand way of saying his offense is pretty bad. TS% is a much better stat than PPG, though.

Dudley would be a great fit for the knicks, but I think Shumpert is better. All this other nonsense is about being over protective or if you trade young players once you have to all the time is, well nonsense.

Shumpert may be the worst case of the knicks fan base way overrating our kids

I would trade Shumps for Bledsoe.

or get me a guy who can help run the team and score.

I like Sessions.

Is Dudley going to fix our rebounding and defensive issues?

really?

Only if PHX throws in 2-3 first rounders.

JR is a keeper and a borderline allstar

This team is far away from any Championship talk. It's built get out of the first round and that's it. I'm watching how they play and they get consistency from one spot night In and out that is Melo. The rest are what you get that day may night happen again.
