If this happens, NJ should just be contracted out of the league.

Billups prob will be done after next year. And both CP3 and Deron will be fighting to make the push to fill that spot. Watch CP3 push his team to the brink, as he gets pushed to the brink with threats of a disgruntled Deron sounding the alarm of boredom and bball frustration opting out of caviar, vodka and skinny russian girls on Prok's yacht.

Am I the only one who doesn't see that as a bad thing? BTW, if russian girls are skinny - then our annual Alba draft is filled with a bunch of herrings(no fur coat, either)

Deron in the PC said he will do whatever the organization ask of him to help improve the situation, including recruiting players to come play there. This IMO is this strongest of all the things he said. Basically if they can work together and get the desired results he'll want to stay. He also acknowledged they gave up a lot to get him.

Here's the thing though, Deron is saying all of the right things right now, which is to be expected. His agent probably scripted the lines on cards for him just like the way Jim Dolan uses cards to makes speeches. And after a season of poor fan attendance and Brook Lopez under-performing, Deron will have a different feeling.

Realistically speaking, Dwight Howard will be the only available RFA with an opt out that would be able to join Deron in New Jersey that would make a difference in the PG staying. There is a good chance that if Dwight wants to move from Orlando, he is traded to LA - knickoftime has outlined that for us quite nicely. And really, if Dwight wanted to move from Orlando to a team with cap space, do you think he would want to join Deron and caca or Amare and Melo. IMHO Amare, Melo, Howard would be a lock for EC for years.

Boston, Lakers, Knicks and Orlando will all have some shot at Howard to some degree. To wind up on the Nets would be a huge upset.

Don't think for a sec every NBA player in the league didn't see the "I'm Coming Home" promo and video of Melo's first introduction.

Yeah, that's just spectacle and no one is going to make a decision based on it, but it does cement and impression players have of things. This is the dynamic developing as I see it.

1.) Knicks had to scatch and claw their way to get one of the 7 or so big free agents last summer, but they got one, and things turned round.

2.) Then the lone really big free agent of the next class made it a priority to go to NY, and while it wasn't easy and NU has to deal with Denver, it got done.

3.) So what happens with the next class? The momentum has shifted, now there will be FA positioning themselves to be the final piece of the puzzle. Knicks just have to create the opportunity for it to be possible the the free agents will come to them.

Agreed but our top two make a lot more than any two on Miami, and this impact our ability to get quality support adversely. On the other hand, if the CBA pushes the cap down our third player may not get that much and that may end up balacing things out a bit.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Go ahead think what you want but you can't pick and choose which statements are scripted and which ones aren't. If you have no intention of staying no need to say you'll recruit players to come play there. It easily could have went unsaid.
