It's not the fact that we can't win. It's just give the kid a break. Give AR a chance. Maybe he can help but lets not punish this kid for nothing.

Biggest statement of the year. Surprised by the win, honestly, but lovin' it.

Also, I'm pretty excited to see extended minutes and ball opportunities for Chandler, in Gallo's absence. Let him fill the stat sheet, the man needs some cred!

Also, this will make up for the Cav's game, I think.

they were down 11pts with 3minutes to play. how many teams come back from that? his guys were gassed by the pace and couldn't defend our offense. pop's coached enough games to know when one is over.

how many games have you watched this year? no lead is big enough with the Knicks

Holy crud! GREAT win tonight. After a 3-5 stretch, what better way to remind skeptics of the NY revival?

I do agree we can't get too caught up in this win though. We had a long stretch before the half with a squad of TD/Fields/Williams/Walker/Turiaf and didn't lose any ground (thanks in part to SA countering with Gary Neal and Matt Bonner...). I don't think we can expect too much success if we're going to rely on that lineup for extended amounts of time against the elite teams in the league.

That said, some great individual performances as well as a great team game out there tonight.

Chandler was terrific. Really picked up the load with Gallo out without forcing any shots.

Amar'e and Ray played great as well. What a difference having true leaders on the floor makes.

Let's not be fooled into thinking this game means we don't need Gallo. Let's just enjoy that our team responded to the challenge of losing a starter and took it to THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE.

I feel like we can beat anybody at home, when was the last time we could say that? We win the Heat and Magic games at home I think.

If this is how Chandler plays at SF, forget Melo, we should trade Galo for a starting C and use the money on backup C/PF, a swing player and another guard for depth.

never thought i'd say this... but i might agree now.

i would target Nene - then we could play with anyone in the league.

I would not get too excited.. lets see how the rest of the week goes. we match up well with the spurs..

Exactly. Don't forget the Spurs also have losses to the Cavs & Clippers...

Shawne Williams played with more confidence today. Driving with determination to the hoop
and those two offensive rebounds seemed to lift us up both times.

Here's to hoping we can get some real league wide respect on this west coast trip.

I think Chandler's game is a bit similar to RJ's when he was a Net. Chandler is MUCH better than RJ is now.

Felton was sensational too, and I'm still floored by how good Amare is at scoring inside.

BTW, Shawne Williams isn't better than Gallo, but when Gallo does nothing but stand around take 3's and occasionally go in for an offensive rebound, than Shawne Williams might be better at playing that role. Of course when Gallo is good he's attacking the rim and getting to the line a lot and is a superior player.

Hey wait a minute... are some of you trying to minimize this win? Man you can't get all over the team for not being able to beat the Heat and yet not give them credit for besting the #1 team in the league right now!!!! I mean how many times have we played top teams down to the last minute and came up short? This time we made they say UNCLE!!! You can't minimize it by saying we "matchup well against them". WTF??? Man they've been handing everyone a does of beatdown this year and we had a decisive win.

DUDE THEY ONLY LOST 4 GAMES ALL YEAR!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THAT'S HUGE!!!

For all the crap MDA has taken from some fans about his rotation and style of play etc. he has had this team ready to roll on far too many nights not to be given a bit of a pat on the back. This looks like a well coached team and we actually played some good D when it counted. I like this team and I think they've shown more fight than we've seen from a Knick team in YEARS. A few bounces of the ball and we might have also beaten the Heat, Magic and the Celts. I think we've seen that this team is much closer than we thought despite having some holes. I think you have to give MDA some cred for doing what he has proven he can do. Get his teams to overachieve.

Knicks were focus tonight

i agree... the Knicks always seem to play the Spurs tough... even in the past couple years we were a crappy team, i don't ever remember getting blown out by the Spurs at MSG.

even still, it was a very impressive win tonight... i'm surprised Pop gave up with so much time left in the 4th quarter, but like u said he knew they weren't coming back in that game... the Knicks had the legs tonight, the Spurs didn't.

The Spurs have been off for 3 days. They were fully rested and it wasn't about being tired at least not for the 1st 3 qtrs it couldn't be. Besides they're a DEEP team and I would suppose that most teams facing them and losing to them, since they had only lost 4 times, aren't allowing them to run their offense any different than we were for much of the game. There was very little defense to tire them out.

This was a case of them facing a team that was on it's game and with a very tough offense to try and stop. We've learned some things from losing to the Heat. We also have improved defensively as well. Perhaps in some small way it helped us defensively not having Gallo out there, cuz we had so many quick players on the floor to stay with the Spurs players a lot more.

Heck the Spurs were shooting very well so they can't even use that as an excuse. They played our style and we did it much better.

i wasn't making excuses, i was making an observation... the Spurs' starters were gassed by the end of the game last nite, it was obvious... yes they had plenty of time to rest, but the Knicks just took the fight out of them in that 4th quarter w/their relentless pace... i'm actually agreeing w/u about the Knicks outplaying the Spurs tonight.

What I will say is that of the top teams we've faced the one team that we don't really match up great against is the Heat. Not that we couldn't beat them, but they just have such a tight Defense as compared to the other teams we've faced. The Magic didn't really scare me, cuz they just got hot at the right moment. Even with their rebounding edge they still had a hard time knocking us off.

I don't quite know what to make of this Knicks team. This is the dilemma that D'Antoni creates. His teams tend to overachieve when you give him something to work with. DW has to look past the wins and see the holes and fix them, so that we don't get into the playoffs and lose due to those weaknesses. We know teams will try to exploit them in the playoffs. Still this team is pretty darn good. I feel a bit more confident in my prediction every day given how they've come together. Just hope they keep it up and stay healthy. I worry about Felton and TD. That's one reason i'd love DW to get some help. We're thin at PF/C and PG.

The Heat is the only team in the league i would not want to see in the playoffs, the only way to beat them is with size, and perimeter shooting..throw in good defense for 48 minutes...the heat only have boston and the lakers(when they get there act together) to fear

The Heat are tough. They remind me of the Bulls when they were unbeatable. They had that defense that was stifling in much the same way. They had the unstoppable perimeter players that just made it tough to win a close game against them. The Heat are almost unfair. I really hope someone else picks them off, rather than face them early on.

Hey how's this for respect: "After the game, Popovich said of the Knicks: “They’re not a ‘dangerous team.’ They’re a good team, and there’s a big difference.”

we have a terrible record against the spurs since duncan has arrived.

i think we had 1 win in the past 9 games or something like that.

We had our best offensive game of the season without Danilo Gallinari.

What does that tell you?
