Those salaries are so far off that that trade can't be done. Bob's sources suck.

Not that I know the exact numbers, but can't this work when we have cap room to absorb the rest?

Carmelo Anthony is going to Jersey. We won't have anyone to sign next summer. We'll have to be 37-40 win team the next two years waiting for Chris Paul. And in a few years, hell in a few weeks, you all will be eating crow regarding Danilo Gallinari and Anthony Randolph when the underachieve your ridiculous and impossible expectations.

you know what... that's a good question. I think the Knicks are like < $2M under cap.

Melo + JR = $17+6M. Gallo/AR/Curry/Douglas = $3.3+2+11.3+1M.

And JR Smith is crazy but he's not a bad player. Argh! I really hope this is all bs because this might just be the worst trade in New York Knicks history not to happen! How can you turn down trading three role players and a fat piece of trash for a 26 year old SuperStar who can drop 40 on LeCon and is 8-4 lifetime against him? WTF Donnie! You're smarter than this!!

It won't be a snore when Danilo Gallinari and Anthony Randolph are Channing Frye and Trevor Ariza level players and we kick ourselves in the ass for turning down this gift of a trade.

God. I hope this is not true. Let's just wait for the summer and sign Melo outright. We hold the cards here. I think Donnie will the right thing.

iSerg,

A few weeks?

JR smith is an expiring and Denver don't want him anymore.

The guy is one part John Starks and one part Marbury. Time has been kind to Starks. Besides the good stuff, there were lots of bad timed selfish technicals and inconsistancy.

I love it when "he played with Emotion" is held in the highest esteem. Thats a glass half full. Mentally soft is the other half.

JR has no value to us. We need to keep our team a "Bonehead free zone".

Smith is useful because he is an expiring who we can trade later for a guy on a longer deal.

JR Smith has little to no trade value (the Nuggets have let it be known he's available all summer and no one has bitten). JR Smith is exactly the kind of player Isiah would get- if you want to see the kind of team mate he is, watch that clip when Melo goes down, is lying on the floor, and JR Smith steps over him to score without showing the slightest concern.

If this trade proposal is true, and I'm not convinced it is then Denver has really been exposed- after claiming all summer not to want any of our you players, it seems they actually want them all. Glad Walsh turned it down.

I think the tone of the organization is about a team now than worrying about "expirings" and who we can get next year.

This team is not in Savior Starphuch mode anymore.

Melo wants his money and while we can't blame him for that, its the current trend for Allstars to compromise to achieve their destination.

Melo was not prepared to play hardball with the Nuggs.

I'd rather have Iggy then Melo...dahum...if they looking to move his salary..DONNIE PICK UP THE PHONE

I'll take Iggy's 17 pts, defense and rebounding thank you very much

anyone listening to 1050 now? Brussard is on talking about Melo situation.

Sounds like the 4 team deal is about to be completely dead

All trades really depend on whether Melo will resign with team

"If Melo puts a Denver uniform on this week, good sign for the Knicks, bad sign for the Nets"

"If decision is up to Melo, he's gonna go to NY"

Melo is going to place nice, say he never asked to be traded and didnt want to resign because he wanted his options open. He will say he loves Denver and plans to bring a title there. Then he will bolt like Lebron and be the Knicks starting SG/SF next year

Iggy is completely overrated. think Richard Jefferson.

I seem to recall Jefferson being good when he had Jason Kidd passing him the ball and KMart in his prime. 3rd fiddle type of dude.

Iggy hasn't had much to play with and is a better defender and assist guy (surprisingly).

for me Jefferson (at this point in his career) is overrated when compared to Iggy... better overall shooter perhaps, but not nearly as good a player.

Almost every day in life you are reminded that patience is a key factor in almost anything you do. Short cuts =half arse job done. If Melo wanst to play in NY--why in the world would I bid against myself--why not offer Chandler and two 1's or wait until next year for free? We have a unique situation with AR and Gallo on the same team--im not changing that--what for???? I do not even want to give up WC--I really would rather wait and use the FA money that we spent 2 years acquiring. It looks pretty simple--Melo doesnt want to play anywhere but NY--so when we can get him for a low price or nothing--that is when you move NOT before. Every day is proving this to be true.

Exactly. If Melo doesn't want to extend with the Nets..

Who are we competing against?

Why offer Gallo + AR + Douglas + Curry if we have 0 competition.

And competition in this case is defined by who Melo would resign with. Any team around the league can offer their firstborn children but if Melo won't extend with them..why do we have to react to what those teams do at all?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please
