Can't we at least wait to see what Cleveland and Phoenix do? If they make that trade, then those guys are staying in Cleveland, and you're now banking on two guys who both basically are anti current NY.

Its adult time. The electric company is going to turn the lights out if we don't get the bills paid, so its time to sell your lawnmower to keep your family warm this winter.

Yeah, it will suck to give up Hill and a #1 pick twenty-five months from now.

Here's what the reality is, we need to have room to get two of the MaxFA's in order to get one. Once you accept that reality, then you understand that you need to cut more cap. There are only a couple of ways left to do that. Probably the least ugly way to do that is to include Hill in a deal to get rid of one of our remaining veteran deals. Dropping Wilson would be the worst because that would cripple us even further down the road.

right now we can sign one max FA...so why rush into a deal in which we give up so many assets.. Yea, I remember years ago, people were downplaying the pick which we owed the suns(now property of the jazz) in the marbury deal.. Most felt we would be a good team by now and the unprotected pick would be a non-lottery pick.... well fast forward 6 years and now the bills come due... payment in full, that will be one john wall and no cents....than you....

I just wish we stop with moves like this..

Don't you think we can trade Hill + Jeffries for 1 or 2 expiring contracts on a team that is already over the cap??? Without adding any first round picks. Teams would jump on that. Jeffries isn't such a bad player, he is a good teammate, not a headcase, and has only 1 yr left. Hill is a #8 draft pick who was considered the best (or 2nd) big man in last years draft.

25 months goes by very quick now. If we do this and have no free agents to show for it (More like, at least LeBron, Bosh, Wade) then everyone should be fired. We hired D'Antoni for this reason. Walsh said the goal was to get free agents. Now we're making even more sacrifices for this. After this trade, there is no plan B. Without this trade, at least we still have capspace and a draft pick if we strike out.

Assumption is the mother of all f' ups.

exactly.. 25 months will go by fast.. just like the past 6 years when we made the marbury trade..

what they're proposing is absolutely ludicrous... giving up our #8 lottery pick selection from the last draft is bad enough to dump Fishlips' contract... u also want to trade swap rights & our 1st rounder in 2012? WTF, would they like Adriana Lima to lick their balls while Jessica Alba administers a good salad tossing in the deal as well?

rofl.. for real!!

Don't do it to yourself cousin. Convince yourself he's not coming. That way if he comes, you then convince yourself he needs to prove himself to you, for you are a true Knicks fan and student of the game who is not easily impressed. Just say over and over you rather have a 2004 Pistons lunchpail type of team. That's this guy's plan.

if the trade is as advertised, its all-in. if thats the case, there is no way they come into the next season employed with anything less than 2 mega talents... not joe johnson, or guys like that. they are now going the lebron or bust route if this trade is legit in my view.

forget that... for Jordan Hill, a 2012 1st + swap rights in 2011, we should be getting a star player in his prime that we can build around, not an injury riddled past his prime veteran with an expiring contract & cap relief... don't sell me on some hope that Lebron & Wade will sign here this summer & use that as some asset in this deal when no one even knows what either of those guys are going to do this offseason... that has nothing to do with the Houston Rockets... the trade is absolutely lopsided in the Rockets' favor.

You like it or you dont - NYC is the DRAMA; and if you want some San-Atonio/Utah type ways, just forget it.

Look folks, I've been saying this for years, but the fact of the matter is that we have a passive, old, weak, sheety GM. He can't draft, can't evaluate, and those chickens have come home to roost. He's made lopsided deals to get rid of ZBo and Crawford, so what's changed? This is another lopsided deal to get rid of the final piece. Should he have made a move earlier so that a team like Houston didn't hold all the cards? Yup. Is he good enough to know that? Nope. Screwed the pooch on the 08 and the 09 draft, slept through Nate and Lee's deals at last year's deadline, slept through FA season this year... At least he knows what he has to do, and what he has to do is to clear enough space for two Max players.

Its tough, but what are you gonna do? At least the guy is facing up to it and doing what needs to be done at this point.

Here's one thing about that story being leaked. It may be that the Knicks leaked that in order to get other teams to offer them something better for Jeffries and Hill.

He's made lopsided deals to get rid of ZBo and Crawford,

how exactly were those deals lopsided? we weren't throwing away draft picks & lottery pick rooks to dump their contracts... they were pure salary dumps, clean & no future worries... yeah we gave up the more talented players but we gained about $27 million in cap relief... now we're talking about giving away 3 potential lottery picks for $10 mil in cap relief? completely different scenario

that doesn't even begin to make sense... that only devalues Fishlips & Hill that much more to other teams eyes... who the hell would think about trading away lottery picks to get Tracy McGrady right now just to gain $10 mil in cap space other than the Knicks?

If reports are accurate about this trade it is awful. How do you give up a lottery pick that is 6'10" and a first round pick for aguy that expires at the end of the year? Also it is a broke down guy. If the Knicks were the Cavs and on the cusp of a championship, or even a contender maybe you move your lottery pick but this is just stupid. I was out and had a great night and now I hear about this b.s. WTF man. What happened to the patient calculating old man running the team? Up to this point Walsh has made forgiveable mistakes but this is a trade that will haunt this team like the Marbury trade. This franchise is cursed. Walsh needs to understand that he isn't competing for anything this year and that if the Cavs get Amare this is all for naught. Unbelievable. I wish I didn't care. D'Antoni not playing Hill was inexcusable but this is even worse. What is the sense in this?
