Marv wrote:got to go to the game. great to witness a W, but more importantly got free magnetic knicks schedule!other main highlight was meeting the pres! looks pretty good for a guy who held office in the 50's. great guy, real knowledgeable of the game and revealed his non-PC side in private
as for the game - whoa is NO bad. how did that happen so quickly? cp is a marvel though. just a silent assassin. emeka looked amazingly good on offense. i guess anyone would against the knicks' interior D, but he really showed coordination and footwork. we'd be thrilled if jordan hill showed those kind of low-post moves.
duhon had a nice, veteran-savvy game. but the garden really buzzed when "andrew” toney douglas came in. that guy pushes it, and just brings an excitement with his pace and presence.
al of course is a totally different player when he's coming inside rather than bombing. He looked good. He could really be an effective passer though if he kept his head up and looked for guys. Other than fishlips though, who blew a couple of good passes from al and I’m sure discouraged further looks.
Overall a great night at the garden. Always a good experience when we win.
Now that the yanks lost I got a big decisions for the tickets I’m holding for tomorrow
i'm sorry, i do not recall, senator.
great meeting you as well, marv! enjoyed the back and forth!
i would have never guessed you wore dentures at all!

pretty fun game, and am also in agreement with your assessments.
i also think comments others have made about gallo having a positive effect on the game even while not hitting his shots are accurate.
okay, so this is no "Live from Section 341!", but I was impressed with the skills of the tic tac toe player who won by diving to put down the last X during a 1st half stoppage of the game! after getting off to slow start with the typical poor play of these rookies who seem to have the garden lights affect their nerves leading to tic tac toe 101 being forgotten (put the first one in the middle!) the loser '0' managed tot save himself one time before losing to the starks-like 'X.'
only thing was he won and then the game kept going on until the ref finally figured it out. "replacement refs." said marv...heh heh.
again, MSG crowds these days are more interesting than any local sport because it is probably the most diverse scene you can experience...to me the "real" nyc.
plenty of young folks of various ethnic backgrounds, internationals, suits, families, etc.
i think i will grow to miss this, assuming we get good again and the less well off fans show up less and less with what we can expect to be sellout after sellout like in the 90's.
i'm very much looking forward to the portland game which is sure to be memorable, and maybe this friday with the "special guest."
