Lee is scoring off his teammates play. I am happy for the teammates passing. Lee is not doing anything extraordinary.

Boy you are truly blind. David Lee is a borderline all star player. I can see he expanded his jumper back 5 feet as well.

Man some people only see what they want to believe. The idea that Lee gives us ANYTHING from his ****ty jumper is the biggest lie perpetuated on UK.

The idea is not neccessarily that he gives us 'anything' (or a lot) from his '****ty' jumper-- the point is that he now has a decent jumper where before he had none at all. And if you look at the stats that you linked to, His 2pt fg% of 35% compares to a 37% for Lebron James, a 35% for McGrady, and a 33% for Baron Davis.

You should also look at his inside shot %, which puts him ahead of players such as Yao, Gasol, Bogut, Danny Granger.

So there is no lie being perpetuated, Lee has a serviceable jump shot that is still improving and an above average inside game that works flawlessly in tandem with the Knicks preferred style of play.

If being among the ten worst fg% in jumpers is serviceable then OK. I happen to think that he shouldn't be putting up jumpshots when his game is rebounding.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I also thought Al Harrington was better than usual on D.

great thread guys... I really enjoyed. Was watching GMen yesterday and then had company so I missed the game.

Glad Douglas had a good start. I really had high hopes for him getting in the rotation and giving us some desperatly needed D on the perimeter.

Terrence Williams was my first choice at pick 7

The Lee bashing is nothing short of entertaining. We start Hughes who might play his way out of the rotation and Duhon who is a great backup along with Jared Jefferies and Al "I dont get paid to pass" Harrington and Lee gives you 20/9, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block in 25 minutes shooting 60% you guys say he was average and just feeding off his teammates. Good stuff.

Not sure we are bashing Lee-- I would just say we aren't nut-hugging him. David does the right stuff on offense. On the boards, moving without the ball, getting superior position, rolling off the pick-- he does a great job at all of that. He supposed to do that. The fact that other Knicks stink at those things does not make Lee exceptional.

While I would agree that Lee is the best player on the team, his strengths would not be as extraordinary on a better team. i.e. he wouldn't have so many rebounds if the Knicks didn't take so many bad shots or other players boxed out. He fills a stat sheet and doesn't get enough credit for the blue collar work. He deserves more credit than Al Shootington for playing better team basketball. He had a good game.

By contrast, Will had a great game and did it at both ends. We all want to see Will attack the basket more and there was a real sense of frustration that the Knicks were standing around the 3 pt line chucking.

Harrington's stats were more empty in my opinion cause although he is probably the most talented Knick, he really didn't involve anyone else.

I think the key to take from this game is to keep an eye on the ball movement between Nate and Chandler and between Gallo and Lee. Those two pairs are clearly playing well off each other.

Douglas will be a good player. I didn't like any jumpshot he took, but he was damned good for a rookie.

The idea of this offense is to weaken a teams defense, by spreading the floor, thus we will always have guys out at the 3 point line. It is the reason Lee is able to dunk so much, cuz defenders are drawn away from the post and kept moving to try and stop our 3 point bombs.

Gallo had it right when he would fake from 3 and then drive and dish. We'll be a much more efficient offensive team when we get it all together. On this team the Pick and Roll is deadly, cuz we have the floor so spread. You can't leave Gallo, Al, Duhon or even Chan open. Teams have trouble stopping us when we share the ball and aside from Al we have a team that shares the ball, witness the 24 assists.

"There's no way Gallinari can guard the shooting guards though. That's setting him up for failure and it's not his fault."

Gallo reminds me of Bird. His natural position should be SF I think.
Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."
