Donnie Walsh is cringing somewhere. His lotto pick is slipping away.

Courtesy phone for MikeD: "This is Donnie, put Curry in at the point... I don't care, just do it!"

He'd have to be awake first. I think they only thaw him out for press conferences.

Pick #13 here we come!!!

Gotta crack up at the MSG interview with Lee...

when he somehow knew that was the last question he went...

"Now back to the studio, Al."

they, of course, got a kick out of that.

Gallo had a nice bounce back game.. 2 threes and duped prince into a foul.... he also played pretty solid defense.. So I guess briggs can let gallo stay another day in the NBA..LOL

Q and hughes defense on rip in the second half was huge! Q hit two big shots and larry with the three pressure FT's was incredible..

Nate didn't shoot that well, but he made plays and didn't turn the ball over

Lee had 16/18 but should be ashamed letting 25 knee surgery Mcdeyse own him and the knicks. I watched deyse just waltz into the lane for 22 rebounds.. 10 offensive.. that is just inexcuseable... lee never boxed out... jeffries was too weak to try..

duhon and Al harrington aka Free candy rode the bench... With Free candy on the bench, wilson had a chance to shine late in the game..

good win..

wow, i can't believe lee missed that

Double double guy kinda lacking on the important shots and rebounds - where the tough rebounds Lee??

Man some of you guys are kinda tough on Lee, lets wait and see what sort of contract he signs with us first before we start trashing him. I dont think he views himself as a franchise player anyway, he's just playing to his limited best

If you believe king is a friend of Lee then I would think he believes he is franchise player and worth at least $10 million a year.

Then if it comes to that Donnie will pull the trigger and i wont half mind, just hope he gets something in value back. For the moment i like Lee for his effort and i'll excuse his brain freezes on defense and accept his shortcomings, i like this kid just like i had a soft spot for Starks.

I like Lee too but if he thinks he is a franchise player and worthy of max contract then he will be criticize by me. Lee is great for now because his contract is more than reasonable.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that Lee thinks he is a franchise player worthy of a max contract.

So it would seem that MDA and the Knicks players have not been looking at those text messages and emails that the Tank Campaign of UK has been sending them.

from king, Martin. If he is part of Lee's camp like he likes to protray then definately from him. Who is coming up with $60 million earlier in the year to now settle on $50 million. With the cap situation if you are getting above $10 million per year, I am putting you in max contract land.

If Lee starts out at $8M, which is not out of the realm for a big man like him, 6 years for around $60M is about the going price, isn't it?

And but your last line, if is YOU who is calling Lee a max player by your def of an avg of $10M per. I do believe King has said that the Knicks could have gotten him for $50M and will have to pay more now. And I know BRIGGS has been pushing big numbers, but no one really thinks Lee is a franchise player.

And there are some concepts about sports and competition that you are unable to grasp, I'm afraid.

I said I thought Lee could have got 40 this summer and now he is going to get 50. Thought McDyess kicked his tail even though Lee had half the team rebounds and still Stuckey and Hamilton did whatever they wanted. We won the game so I am happy.

frachise player means franchise money. I think in this economy $10 million will now begin to be what $15 million was, a very big deal. Since most deals calls from contracts that escalate rather than remain the same or diminish. If you start Lee at $10 million which what king was talking about around November, then it would be a roughly around a $77 million contract. I don't think $60 million is a going rate for big men that don't defend or have a significant impact on their teams. If you are talking about Bynum asking for that money then yeah. It is even hard to compare a Boozer to Lee because Boozer has had a bigger impact on his team. Lee has been part of two 23 win teams and 33 win team. Lee doesn't have any all-star accolades to even hang his hat on.

dude, no one was talking about Lee starting at $10M per in Nov. NO ONE.

But let me adjust your words to make my point more clear: "Some guy on the internet back in Nov said that Lee is going to demand $10M per so that means Lee thinks he is a franchise player in my book cause $10M is the new $15M." That's essentially what you are claiming, which is way off base on many accounts.

When it was suggested that offering Lee between $6-$8 million a year. king said it was too late, they should have offer that prior to the season. He was offended. He said it would cost around $9-$10 million which Briggs confirm and said forget about the 2010 plan. So I don't get the confusion.

I couldn't find the thread, too much trouble without a search function. But this one is from pre-season where $60 million was already stated at what should be offer and that is prior to the season.

So I still don't get your logic. BRIGGS suggests that Lee should be getting a $60M dollar contract and that means Lee thinks he himself is a franchise player?

I mean, you don't add your own perspective to things?

Nowhere anywhere has Lee or his agent suggested that he is a franchise player. Nor have they demanded a max contract.

I bet his agent is angling to get as much money as he can though, just like anyone in his position would.

the scary thing to think about with Lee is if you look at the contract Troy Murphy got. that's got to be the minimum starting point his agent goes in with.

i like nate and lee, but i don't think you kill cap room to sign two supporting players.
