A lot has been said about the improvement in Lee's shot and rightly so. But does anyone notice how his ball handling has improved. When a pg isn't around he can push it up on the break and he can take it to the hoop.
Another thing about his game that I like is his hands. He catches virtually everything thrown to him. And he has a kind of radar around the basket. He hardly ever misses when he's by the rim and pulls down every board that he has a chance at. |

Posted by BRIGGS: Good post. Nate has to be aware of his tendancies and discipline himself. He often realizes it and plays that way. But he can get carried away and shoot too much or play a playground style which hurts the team. |

Amare blasted Lee - He was frustrated that Lee was outplaying him.

Posted by Marv: IMHO the presence of Shaq in the post has really clogged up the lane for Amare to do his thing... there's just not much space to move around down low for him anymore or even to run pick & roll plays w/Nash... he looked much better in the 1st half of last season when Shaq wasn't there. Posted by TMS:Posted by Marv: There can only be one dominant post player per team. They get in the way of each other. Amare needed a DLee type player to help him and not Shaq. Shaq made a lot of money for PFs like Haslem, H. Grant, Madsen. Shaq does not need a dynamic player playing with him. |

Posted by Marv: all i know is that Amare and Shaq don't mix, kinda the same way ZBo and Curry could never share post positions at the same time. And the thing for me is that Amare has an outside shot and can pick-n-roll with Nash all day. Maybe the offensive scheme just sucks. Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

Posted by NYKBocker: He always seems to be looking to drop off his man to help inside if the opposing player is putting up a shot. When his game legs kick in and he hits 6'11" (7' in sneakers), he will get his fair share of blocks as a help defender. I probably spend more time watching him on D, even when his man does not have the ball, than when he is on offense. As his footwork improves and he learns how opposing players move, he will be even better in 1/1 situations. I also think that if he puts on about 25 lbs of muscle (235-40 lbs as a target weight), he will be a decent PF defender. His height will make up for his lack of strength for now, but maturity and some wise weight lifting should allow him to be a legitimate PF at some point. the guy has all the tools to be a total stud. He's got IQ at 19 to back it up as well. It all comes down to the back. You look at his game and how he's played since coming back and he is a layup at #6. He reminds me a bit of a white Lamaar Odom. A guy that can play 5 positions at any given time.
He's 2 years from being allowed to drink beer and he doesnt look like he shaves. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Gallo is Bird Lite. His BBall IQ is off the charts. He plays defense like Bird in that he know how to position himself and gets a lot of deflections. I really see him taking over more next year. If we can draft a stud SG that is long (6'6" or taller) that can shoot then I think we will be 4-5 seed in the playoffs next year.
I am digging the DLee at center look. He looks like Moses out there against the trees, except a diff type of game. |
