The Moral Majority

"I think most people on this thread are using it differently then Earl and Pharzeone are."

Just because "most people" smoke cigarettes does that mean you want to do it?

The Rock is a role player

The Mayor will never be confused with the stone the builder refused

Anyone who can go for 31 and 9, 2 assists and a blocked shot while defending two all-stars (The Big Ticket/Paul Pierce) and Rajon Rondo (with zero turnovers) has a potential role as a clutch scorer, man-up rebounder, versatile defender, focal point for the offense, subject matter for Fathead posters and teachers pet.

you heard it here first

and I don't know jack about "most people"

In other words you will continue to have a different conversation than what some are having, but you will argue with them anyway. That's cool. Strange, but cool.

some of you guys are sensitive,..... like baby.

Role player: In this thread people seem to be using it as it's used in a popular video game. Prospect, bench player, role player, star. In this case people are saying that Chandler at the moment is a role player. Nothign to get all bent out of shape about. It will be okay. People's opinions of his talent will not affect his development. If Isle's thinks he sucks, this will not be the determining factor of how good he can be. If Bip says that currently he is a role player, this doesn' meant he can't make 15 straight all-star teams. Get over it.

As long as Chandler stays aggressive at all times, I'm OK with this kid. He's got to remain aggressive - there's no one on this team he should ever be deferring to.

He's really developing nicely. His drives are things of beauty. His defense is top notch. He just needs to get used to playing big minutes and improve his three point shooting. He's emerging this season. Next season, he'll be an established player.

He's getting hate around here because he is an Isiah pick, and a really good one at that. I'm convinced of that now.

He has future All-Star written all over him. If he played for Portland or the Bulls, guys around here would be jacking off to his pictures daily and constantly making threads for every good game he has.

SMH @ a 21 y/o in his first year averaging 15pts. and people are already trying to marginalize him as a "role player"

There's like one person who thinks his ceiling is a role player. Where do you get the feeling people are hating on him? I think most people are pretty happy with his play.

Hate might be strong, I'll admit, but this thread has been awfully critical of a 21 y/o that obviously is still learning the game. Compare this thread with the fawning over other young players on other teams that routinely happens around here.

Chan's looking good. Wasn't playing like a rookie last night. He looked a little quicker on the dribble and more decisive attacking the basket. I wonder if there was any truth to the rumor that his knee was barking? last night, he was looking like the most complete player we had on the floor. Good 'D', good 'O' from the Mayor. What more could anyone ask for?

I agree with you there. That's a given. We always seem to put down our own players. We even undersold Patrick. In general I think most like his production, but they won't love him until he is actually a star. That's just the way we operate sometimes.

Submitted as evidence: That Portland midget Sergio Rodriquez. Ready to give up David Lee for a guard that is shooting under 40 percent and is getting punked out by Steve Blake of all people. LOL.

Another Patently False Generalization Propogated On The Unwashed Masses

"I think most like his production, but they won't love him until he is actually a star."

It is so expeditious and band-wagonish to love a player only AFTER he becomes a star. For the courageous few who understand the difference between a campaign and a movement, The Mayor needs your support. You are the next generation of Knicks fan who do not settle for second hand accounts, or watch basketball casually - but think for yourselves.

Who you gunna believe, me, or that lying Marc Berman?

"Most"?

Don't be bamboozled, set-upon, run amok or fall for the trickeration of those who would accuse you of enjoying the aroma eminating from his athletic supporter. Don't be distracted by the nattering, naybobs of negativity.

Enjoy the ride.

The Mayor is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Amen.
