Eddy Curry may finally get burn now and hopefully the dude can wake up and be.....dare I say it......Zach Randolph lite!!!! Make no mistake about it Zach was a good player for the Knicks. He deserves respect......he's gonna bust our asses when he comes back....and so will Craw.......not out of anger.....but because they destroy players like the ones we have now.....

Still, even with all this.....if everyone that's traded comes over and plays with no hard feelings (tim thomas)....the Knicks actually got better!!! I can't believe it.......I'm happy as hell and sad as hell at the same time!!!

How does this trade suck you add size and subtract Jamal who is not a good player. He was not going to opt out who was giving him more than 9 million dollars. Harrington is tradeable next season anyway. Would like to see the following if zach doesn't get moved.

A source in the NBA has confirmed to TKB that the New York Knicks have officially acquired 6′9″ forward Al Harrington from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Jamal Crawford.
Three quick thoughts….
1. 11 million off the books in 2010-11
2. Can Harrington play the role of Amare Stoudemire in D’Antoni’s system?
3. Jamal, you always played your heart out and tried to play the role of team leader in an impossible situation. Thanks for all of your efforts and good luck in the Bay Area.

It was not a guarantee that he would opt out.

We havent won anything of significance with Jamal, so whats the problem? The roster needs to be blown up. Nobody is safe. The paradigm of the Knicks will be shifted, trust.

Well, I guess they think Chandler can play SG. Duhon, Chandler, Harrington, Zach, and Lee will at least be a long lineup, but man are we going to miss Crawford's ability to take over a game. We should have gotten Bellini out of the deal at least.

Again if you never tried on defense you didn't play your heart out.

It's too bad the cavs look so good because I would rather send Zach there for wally instead of the 2-1 with the clippers, but you have to jump on these deals.

There is a very realistic shot at getting Bosh/Lebron in the same class.

Do we want DLee to continue to excel or just be good so he doesn't ask for an arm and a leg?

I really don't think its a foregone conclusion that Craw will opt out. Here's why:

1) his 08 stats are inflated due to D'antoni & the whole league will know it
2) the whole league also realizes the FA class of 2010 is coming
3) very few teams each year get themselvesunder the cap....I doubt a shoot 1st, 40%, no defense, few FT attempt guy like Craw would be a big FA attraction

Given this, Craw would be foolish to opt out of guaranteed $$

Q plays SG. And final details of the trade haven't been let out, so lets see if its just two players or more.

It's official. As Newsday reported this morning, the Knicks have just completed a deal that will send Jamal Crawford to the Golden State Warriors for Al Harrington.

I'm told by an NBA source that the Knicks may not be done yet today....

This is an amazing trade.

The cap implications alone are the reason this deal was made. Jamal was a standup player for this organization but he needed to be moved and we got a decent player in return who will play great in D'Antoni's system but also expire after next year.

Step 1 complete. Now to just move either Zach or Curry and you are seriously cookin...
