maybe a "report this post" button that goes to andrew/martin?

that way if a post seems out of line, they will get notified immediately and they can discern what to do?

i think we're all grown ups here and i like blue seats idea of self policing ourselves.

I'd love that. Man, I'd be clicking that mofo ALL DAY!!!!

I think if we have an "ignore" button we should also have an "exclude" button. That way I can stop unworthy readers from reading my posting masterpieces.

Maybe I can just forward every post I make to Martin and Andrew, in order to save oohah and others the time.

Nah, **** them, let them waste their time.

Reporting posts would be equivalent to tattle telling. Leave that for the Little Tikes! What's the avg age on this forum?....I'd say 30. So you mean to tell me we're suggesting 30yr old men tell on other 30yr old men to 30yr old men? With exception to a couple women that post here.

I'm now starting to wonder of all those who post on this forum, plenty of hem must take a Piss sitting down.

holy crap, miss a day and a half and I need the Cliffs Notes version of this thread.
Cliffs Notes: Some people want it, some people don't. Those that want it will use it. Others say we should police ourselves. Dj wants a "report this post" button specifically point out which post to mod.

I think the idea of a 'report this post' is a good idea but it also would create alot more work for Martin/Andrew, because I guarentee you that people would be reporting posts left and right. Theres no need for them to put more into this site than they alread do.

I think the report this post feature is a good idea. At first it might be overused, but then the mods will see who is reporting nonsense/abusing the button, and who is actually reporting stuff worth reporting, and most importantly they will actually see what needs to be reported.

The button itself might make posting not such a free-for-all.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I don't understand why you are so against a feature you are not being forced to use.

To be honest, I'm a fan of the super intense arguments. I find it entertaining. HAHA!! Maybe if more people took it for entertainment we wouldn't have people bugging out so much. I find Islesfan absolutely hilarious. He's a really funny guy if you can get past the point that he's dogging your favorite team. I mean, how funny is this:

There are some very sensitive, very emotional people on this message board. And you know just how to rile 'em up. Should we have an ignore feature? Or should they take a step back and think to themselves, "Hold up. This is just one person on an internet forum."? People need to lighten up.

I'm innocent. I'm very very innocent.

That's funny stuff. I mean, he's a character, a parody of the most angry fans and he does it well. The fact that some people are so easily riled up is not his fault.

This site is not overrun by negativity because there is no ignore function. This site is overrun by negativity because the team has been in the dumps year after year. There is no such thing as lovers and haters. There is just hopefuls and not hopefuls. An ignore feature will not change that.

But yeah, if you really feel like you need it to enjoy the board then I guess I hope you get it because I feel bad that you aren't enjoying yourself. My advice: loosen up, roll with the punches, keep it light, don't read the posters you don't like.

Post of the year nomination. I agree with everything you said. Thanks for saving me some time typing

Guys: Stop taking people so seriously and just ignore those that you don't like. It's not that difficult. I haven't read a Solace or Allanfan20 post in years.
I just hope that people will like me

I always feel that most of the people ignore me anyway.

Maybe Martin and Andrew can give away an entire seasons worth of panty shields to the first 10 people who use the ignore feature.

Just make the REPORT THIS POST button but have it not do anything. Its like those buttons on NYC crosswalks people push and they think the lights gonna change for them.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
