If you're gonna starphuck just to draw in as much money as possible immediately without caring about building a championship core, then adding Artest makes a lot of sense--just like the Marbury, Curry, Crawford, Zach, and McDyess trades did.

why is artest a starphuck?
He defends, can shoot from deep. He's a 2-way player without a long contract.
If that was the full picture (and you KNOW it isn't), his last two teams wouldn't have been desperate to trade him.
what's your definition of a starphuck? You don't give up too much and get a 2-way player in return on a short contract.
Anything where you get a big name player with huge enough flaws (either to his game or his personality) that he should NOT be part of a championship contending core. I know you're a bright fan and you wouldn't build a team around a core of Zach, Eddy, and Ron if you're were trying to win a championship. You might if you wanted to sell a lot of jerseys and seats this summer, though.
So, if we traded either JJ or Rose or Big Game for Artest, that's a starphuck?
I think we need Nalod's call on this.
Sorry for the delay, I was not aware we needed an offical "ruling".
It would be my quick evaluation that bringing in Artest is not a Starphuch UNLESS the team is really struggling and we deem him as the fix. Relying on Artest is really bad.
Artest is not a franchise take over type player. I don't think you give him the ball at games end unless he is the 4th option. 5th Option is for Isiah to resign. Ron is a Bumblehead.
Question is do you give up Lee in a a trade? No, but you give up Balky, or Nate, or Q, Or craw, either JJ. Not all.
Looks like a mute point anyway. But no, Artest is not a Starphuch, or..........
Is he a "stealth Star Phuch"?
Bottom line is some guy got high smoking a "Doobie" and attributes this rumor to "Douby" and sits back and laughs at how many man hours are being spent chewing on this rumor.
I think Sac proved they can lose with and without Artest and will move him when there is value.
If he opts out and opens up cap room, thats really not a bad thing for them.
