arkrud - so, do you think that Randolph Morris will "stick"?

Interesting opinion.

Why so interesting? He went undrafted 2 years ago and his market today is that of an LLE free agent. Not to say that he won't make it but I don't think it would shock anybody if he didn't. And with the Knicks married to Curry, it would be a shock if he stayed beyond this contract.

I don't know about Morris.
This organization is not alowing anybody to grow.
Especially guys with character. As soon as young guy is not getting along with MSG corporate nonsence he is looking out.
And then we end up with marbs/Isiah/dolan ass-kissers.
That's why I think Lee will not "stick" also...

arkrud - I would have to respectfully disagree on the Knicks tossing Lee in the trash heap.

With regard to the organization not allowing anyone to grow, a perfect example of a rookie being brought along slowly, and then flourishing with unexpected additional minutes is the villified Renaldo ("who's he?") Balkman.

Balkman has proven to be a running double-double, which is rare for a rookie.

Although Frye has dipped in production, I would not put that any further than the switch from playing closer to the paint last season, and picking ou free throws.. to playing further away from Eddie's turf and becoming more of a face-the-basket type.

Frye will learn from the experience and adjust. It is only his second season. Frye has a sold pedigree and the intelligence to make it work.

The other young guys?

Collins will benefit from his rookie season and Nate will benefit from the calming effect of the maturation process. "It ain't nothin' a good-old-fashioned Church-goin' woman cain't fix"

Jamal is still a young player with limited experience as he only played two years of organized ball before turning profesional.

Growth is a gradual process

Why not see where these players are when they reach their peak years?

Visualize Channing Frye, Balkman and David Lee, in three years, at the ripe old ages of 26 and 27 respectively.

Frye will still be impersonating Bambi.

Balkman will still be struggling to get minutes.

Lee will be playing for a team in Florida.

"hey rookie, get my laundry!"

arkrud - What is fascinating about the Morris sudden appearance on the Knicks roster, is the fact there is no modern precedent for a college player walking directly from the tournament to a professional roster in the space of a week.

The Knicks players who have trudged through this season, can either embrace him or treat him more like the oddity he is, until he can prove he belongs at the next level.

Other than the Knicks adding six more fouls to give at center, Morris can take advantage of the crash course on the NBA in April and dedicate himself to absorbing the on-the-job information that would normally be delivered through some type of formal pre-season orientation.

Time will tell

Circle The Wagons

"They are slumping at the wrong time, having lost five of six games since Garden chairman James Dolan presented Thomas with a contract extension. Injuries have played a factor over the last month. Jamal Crawford is out for the season, Quentin Richardson remains sidelined and David Lee was back in street clothes following an awful 10-minute cameo in Thursday's home loss to the atrocious Trail Blazers."

"When Thomas gave Francis a quick hook in the first half, Francis marched to the end of the bench and sat defiantly on the floor." -NYDaily News

Playoff hopes are fading fast. It looks bleak enough to easily forsee a streak of losses in March and April.

Then again...

(strategically speaking)

... what if Randolph Morris can actually play a lick and cameo at power forward? Don't sleep on his ability to hit a short jumper.

Hey I'm in the house and looking foward to our draft picks and the signing of Rasheed Lewis.
We will be better next season but we must understand that every one will be trying to get better.

Who's Rasheed Lewis? Is that a Rashard Lewis/Rasheed Wallace combo?

hell if I know...

...but the papabear is a friend of mine from an alternate universe, so back up. He is welcome here, just like anyone else.

nyk - since when were the contents of posts monitored or political correctness and slotting in the "proper" thread?

Isiah makes a blockbuster trade to bolster the frontcourt and another intelligent draft selection to remold the backcourt skill set.

Book it.

At least Eddy's honest:
For the most part we weren't even in some of the games we lost.

Bonn - Eddy Curry, along with Malik Rose, is demonstrating the willingness to look at the season with an unflinching eye... and accept the responsibility to critique the team on clear terms.

Eddy has put out the call for guys to get better in the off season and I would think he is including himself in that picture.
