I'm fine with it too. Dolan gave Isaiah the chance to prove himself and he did.
Yeah, but one point is, if he doesn't, then just like everyone else, we're stuck with him. I think Dolan made a really immature-premature decision here. He should have waited for the season to end. Once again, a prime example of not waiting to see the whole picture and making quick, ill advised decisions here. What if they 'don't' make the playoffs' and Dolan made the deal on an impulse move? All of our moves seem to be based on impulse and don't seem very well thought out first. What I mean is, if Dolan signed him, just because the knicks got the 8th spot, then he just took a huge chance on re-signing a guy who has made some pretty bad moves with barely anything to show for it. I mean just how many lessons is it going to take to think hard about what this owner is going to do, when it comes to what was already done? I believe our young guys are going to be anywhere from okay to pretty good, but if your going to surround them with guys like starbury, Jerome, Jeffries, and the few others, then how are they going to develop or get better. You need someone who can lead and show some wins by example, and I don't really see anyone here that can do that, other than maybe Crawford and Lee. Anyway, that's another story. But to sign Zeke to an extension, I think shows how unpredictable this owner is. One year ago, I would have supported Brown and Thomas head and nails. This year, when you look at all' of the management mistakes, the selection process in particular, with Zeke putting starbury and Brown together and causing Dolan to have to buy out Browns contract and starbury not mounting up to really nothing more than a shooting guard, and the purchase of Jeffries who was supposed to come in and upgrade this defense, who also is a cancer on this team, with Jerome James, an obvious overpaid bum, who can't last more than two minutes in a game, making mega millions, when I see a guy like Francis, who would otherwise be a great guard, and was' up until a few seasons ago, but who cannot avoid leg injuries and a few other problems on the moves section of this team, when I see these happening 'consistently' on a regular basis, all of these conflicts and lack of flow in this teams chemistry, then how in the world am I supposed to come on board and tell my self that we're almost there? How in the world can I look at all of the mistakes made, starting from Layden-Dolan combination and say that we are developing? How can I even say that we are going foreward, when year after year after year after year, I see the same kinds of things happening in developing this team?
If Dolan is giving his reasoning for re-signing Zeke to an extension, based on the 'preception' that Zeke has made a clear turnaround, then I must question this also. Realistically, if you really think about what happened with last season and compare it with this season, just how significant of a change has Thomas made here exactly? Can we all agree that this is basically the same exact team as last year, with the exception of Brown being dismissed? Then I must ask 'what exactly, other than the improved win total (so far) is really different about this team? If this same exact team is wiinnig more games this season, than doesn't that raise the question to any of you as why this team did not win just as many last year? If this team, which is the same' team as last year, then what exactly is the real difference, what exactly is the real improvement on this team? I mean, if this is the same exact team, then obviously, they were more than capable of just about as many wins for last year, right? So my question to you's is if having a few more wins than last year is a turnaround year, and we are still 5 games under .500? Then what improvements have we really made here? I mean the only reason (and I want you all to acknowledge this) we are in the 8th spot is because we are in a very, very lousy division! What does that say about us? They are calling it going in the right direction, but if you look closly at it, we are the same team as last year. If anything, Frye has gotten worse, Nate is (for lack of a better word) an attitude problem that could weaken this team. There's two rooks right there who are anywhere from a sore spot to a potential bust! Collins mugging against Denver has to be questoined as to why it happened and does it show something that we don't know about him? We've gotten some gift wins, if you examine it closely and are in a weak division. If we were in another, we woudn't even be close to talking playoffs. I can guarantee you that Dolan would not be extending his contract, and this thread would not exist. So my question to you guys is, with all of these problems and potential busts' (I don't mean potential people), why in the world would Dolan resign a guy who has not shown any improvement on this team? I don't care about the fact that we are presently in the 8th spot. That could dissapear by tomarrow. I don't care what starbury did in 'almost' winning a game for us. Those are small and obvious questions. I want to know why we keep going in the wrong direction on management decision? And this is why I question this move, this signing, obviously based on 'impulse', which is the last thing you want to do. Now in all fairness, and I said this before, I hope to god that Thomas and Dolan prove me completely wrong, because I want more than anything for the Knicks to improve and go onto to do great things. I don't want to just be entertained. I want real improvement and proof that that is happening. But based on what has been happening the last ten years, and the constant questions on this team and many, many of you who have had them over and over again and again, don't lie, I would like you to think about what has been happening and what this signing means. That's really all I can say at this point.
I've said these things before, the last couple of years and on other boards. I know I can't be that wrong or that crazy. And I think many of you have the same questions on your mind also.
I'll never trust this' team again.
