yep they make the game so fun to watch even for non-soccer fans. I think the great teams of the 50s & 60s with Pele & Garrincha are responsible for the way Brasil plays with so much style, teamwork & anticipation. Everyone kid in Brasil grows up emulating the way those guys played.

haven't watched a ton of World Cup but every time I see Brasil I alway come away with the feeling that that is way soccer should be played. And I watch USA v Ghana and kept thinking, "what are the player and the coach doing?"

lol yeah USA is just not very skilled and they're usually slower than their opponent. They always lack that star player that every other team seems to have. They're always in games though because they do a good job defensively. But its way too much passing the ball around the midfield for any fan who's trying to get into watching their country play. Some people are blaming the coach for not putting more people in position to score but I really dont think thats it. Donovan is a pretty good player but he's no match for bigger, stronger international players. I love that young guy Clint Dempsey though because he's ****y, fast and creative with the ball.

Ghana plays a great game...excellent passing, moving without the ball & superfast but they struggle to score in the box because they lack size and strength. Ghana could've easily scored 6 goals against the Czech but only won 2-0. It is not going to be easy for Brasil to beat Ghana, the only African team left. Their fans going to go bananas!

Mexico mounting a spirited attack in the 85th minute, but this could go into OT!

Dammit ARG wins!

No it isnt sudden death anymore. I think they play two 15 minute overtime periods!

Yeah, if they are not gonna do sudden death, they really shouldnt have two 15 minute halves. If you score in the first half i should be done!

Beckham is the heart. He gets too much grief from the English media but if its not for him, England is not a dangerous team.

England win, but not many positives. Flashes of brilliance from Rooney. Lampard seems to get worse and worse every game. Gerrard had a bad game too. Joe Cole was a not-factor. The defense was solid, we were never troubled. Beckhams free-kick aside, he didn't do anything the rest of the game. Our midfield really needs to step up against Holland/Portugal is we are to have a chance. At least Rooney has another 90 minutes under his belt and he should be evn better next game.

A pretty dire game, but Ecuador didn't deserve anything from the game anyway. They didn't threaten once. I thought Ferdinand and Ashley Cole at the back were very solid, and never looked in throuble.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?
