Because Marbury doesn't know how to run an offense or get other players involved. I don't know where you got the idea that true point guards don't score, where did you hear that?

Where did I hear what? I don't need to "hear" anything, all I have to do is watch a basketball game and see what players bring the ball up the court and WANT to pass the basketball instead of shoot it. Chauncey is not that man.

Your Quote.
How is Billups not a true point? That's ridiculous. He's been a point guard his entire career.
Yet you never call Marbury a PG when he's played that position his whole career. Why does it work for one and not the other? True PGs don't score Knight. Look at Jason Kidd. Look at Chris Duhon. These are the guys labeled as PGs not Chauncey Billups, whom I've never heard be called a true PG once before you just said it.

Because Marbury doesn't know how to run an offense or get other players involved.
How can you "run" an offense when you the best veteran you've ever played with is Kurt Thomas??? I bet it would look like Billups was clueless about running offenses if he had the teammates Marbury's had at the points in their careers when he had them.

Kidd averages more points than Billups. Just admit you're wrong. Look at their career stats.

If you think Kidd is a better scorer than Billups, its u that should be admitting u are wrong.

but when was the last time a team with a true PG won the championship? Teams win Championships because of guys like Duncan, Shaq,Kobe, Jordan, Isiah, Olajuwon, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Chamberlin, Kevin Garnett, etc

Detroit.

Chauncey Billups is not a TRUE PG

What is he? False?
He's a 4 assist per game (until this year) guard listed as a PG. He plays great defense and is a tough player but he's no pure PG. I too would have answered Guns' question with "Detroit"; it just would have referred to a Detroit team from about 15 years earlier.

right but that team didn't have the true PG Rich was suggesting we need to win a championship. They had too great scores who switched up PG duties in Isiah and Joe. Like this Detroit team they had a great coach, great defensive players and rebounders. Everything Marbury and these Knicks lack

Uhhh no.
Billips is averaging 17 a game this year and Kidd is averaging 12.

Just admit your wrong.

Guys he has no point, he likes to argue. Doesn't matter what he truly believes in, he'll pick a argument with anyone.

If Garnett guaranteed us a championship then it's a no brainer, but he doesn't.

how so? you don't think a team consisting of KG, Curry, Marbury, Wally and Crawford coached by Larry Brown is a legit contender and arguably a favorite with the exception of maybe San Antonio? If we have to trade Marbury we trade him but KG is exactly what Marbury needs.

Nobody knows what Marbury needs, he brought back Olympic Bronze playing with All-Stars. Garnett doesn't talk to Marbury--they would have to mend their relationship and continue to work together. It's not exactly Shaq and Kobe here except the dislike of one another.

I am against any trade with Frye because I like him before the draft but to now blame Marbury for not winning the Olympics when he was the best player there. You are sad.

"True" point guards can score and still be "true".

So what did that have to do with comparing Kidd and Billup's scoring? (and reaching the incorrect conclusion that Kidd is the better scorer when it's 17 to 12 favoring Billups)

Um, Kidd is a true point guard and has scored as much as Billups in his career.

The truest of TRUE PG's = John Stockton and Mo Cheeks. Look no further.

Jordan, Bird, and Magic handled the ball. Kareem had Oscar in Milwaukee. KG isn't the player that Duncan, Shaq, Chamberlain, and Olajuwon are or were. Not even close.

why not? his performance suggests that he is. Does he have to win a championship with those mediocre teams in Minnesota to solidy his dominance?

disagree. Even if KG isnt that type of a player, he is much better today than I can hope for Frye to be.

exactly. I can't believe this is even an argument!

and Detroit had a lot more than just Chauncy Billups. they were a complete team, smart, well coached and had all the pieces inplace. Thats how you win without a legendary superstar but you ain't building a dynasty anytime soon that way!

They built that team pretty damn fast.

you missed the point. How many championships did they win without a superstar. ONE

Your going to put Billups in the same class as Stockton?!

If you ever watch a Pistons game watch Billups bring the ball up, he brings it up and WANTS to shoot it. How many times do you have to see Jason Kidd pass up wide open EASY points for himself to give those points away to other players? True points love to pass the ball and let the other guys score. It's that simple.
