First Half Points:

Positives:

- There is no question Steph has played better D this season and is working on playing more under control on the offensive end, using his strength and quickness when needed. He HAS TO BE GIVEN CREDIT FOR BUYING INTO BROWN'S SYSTEM AND WANTING TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN. Any Marbury doubters need to check themselves. If we had a real superstar to comliment Marbs, like most top teams...sans the Spurs (who have one) and Pistons (who we must have to emulate to succeed with the currenr roster as it stands...unless someone comes into their own as a real star), I think we'd be in the upper echelon of the NBA RIGHT NOW.

- The Blazers clearly have no consistent outside shooting. Credit has to go to the Knicks for mostly forcing them to take bad shots, but some has to be to their own typcial bad team antics, like poor shot selection (i.e. that last Theo Ratliff shot and a few Jarett Jack 3's).

- The rookies have played pretty well again, despite a few mistakes. It's becoming clearer as the season goes on that all 3 of our rooks have the goods and will be good/solid NBA players down the road, worst case scenario. LOVED Nate's take on Theo Ratliff, Frye's long jumper and strong rebounding, and Lee's strong moves to the hoop and nice passes.

- To most of our shock, I'm sure, Mo Taylor played like a beast while in the game. Is he coming into his own? WAY too soon to jump the gun, but he's played well all season long. incredible range on his jumper and has played shockingly good D and gotten in there on the boards. We all know he has had the offensive talent, but if he continues to step up on both ends of the floor I would not be surprised to see him starting soon (which I am still surprised I am saying).

Things I Am Concerned About:

- We started this game of stale again, and I can't help but think if we played against a good NBA team we would be toast right now, or struggling to come from behind. There was not enough energy from guys like Q, who I wonder about injuries, and Antonio Davis was picking up bad fouls. Curry's defense was also atrocious at the start of the game and as it went on, with a few exceptions. There were too many open looks and easy drives to the lane. He HAS TO USE HIS SIZE TO HIS ADVANTAGE.

- Curry also has to STOP PICKING UP OFFENSIVE FOULS. God, this is killing us. I also think he needs to develop a good post move that is not a hook or running shot. He's too big and strong to use what he's using as his bread and butter. If he gets a good a drop-step move his opponents are dead.

- The team's free-throw shooting is atrocious as well. Curry is the biggest culpret in my opinion. If this continues, someone with respect who knows what to do needs to go to him and say nicely and casually, but sort of serious (I suspect), "Hey Eddie, I wanted to show you something I thought you'd like to know...check it out...blah blah blah" and work on FT shooting.

- Rose should not take any jump shots unless they come from the baseline, where he has success.

- I saw too many times where Frye was calling for the ball, and open or in a spot he has hit shots and the PG's or whoever was handling the ball was not even looking at him. There was one sequence where Channing hit a nice jump shot, then we got the ball back and Nate and Q never saw him in the same spot again calling for the ball...wide open. This needs to be worked on.
