So so heartbroken that this has become a partisan issue. The truth is that the virus does not care about the color you like or the flag you plant in your front yard. The virus wants to kill you and the only way we can protect all humankind from it is by giving you and your immune system the ability to combat it. Please pleae please for the sake of everyone and their family please help. I beg you. I now live in the US and it breaks my heart to see how people are dying for the sake of venal, selfish politicians.
Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

This is the kind of information that should be delivered daily to the intellectually challenged among us.

Although I’m sure they would tune it out so they can keep pretending it’s just the flu. Or find some other defense mechanisms to keep pursuing their simple, selfish desires.

Meanwhile the rest of us get to deal with a pandemic, as well as these parasitic delusional weakling snowflakes.

Hmmm. I do believe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

There are definitely are a lot of partisan people who are steadfast in their opposition to anything their party picks to be against. However, after reading through a lot of COVID stories there is another group of people who don't get talked about enough. People who are computer/phone literate enough to go on places like facebook(which happens to be the epicenter for anti vaxx misinformation) but are not literate enough to mentally filter out website links with a clear agenda/bias. The interesting thing about these stories is it shows the website these people read and got their info from. Just by looking at the website handle it obvious to me they are not to be trusted.

The stories that involves these people are the sad one's to read because when they finally figure out the truth it is entirely too late. One story there was a nice older lady who fed into most of the anti vaxx posts for months. She happened to have a doctor in her family and it did not dawn on her to talk to him until before she was set to be put on a ventilator. Before she was put on it she made a huge post encouraging people to get vaxxed and how you don't want to make the same mistakes she made. Sadly she ended up passing away.

Flying for a single day this weekend to NYC to get a single-shot Johnson vaccine, so that I can travel with it to some decent countries.

Could anyone who knows be kind enough to tell me, do pharmacies in New York administer it easily to any walk in? I have been unable to book an appointment at Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid. I am really worried about flying in for nothing (10 hour flights each way), so would appreciate any info you might share.

Pfizer or Moderna are not an option for me, because I do not have 2 weeks to spend sitting here.

CVS website says by appointment or walk-in.

I would call a couple of locations to see if they have the Johnson and Johnson shot available for walk-ins this weekend.

If you don’t mind telling, where are you now that you cannot get the vaccine? Just curious.

In Russia you cannot get an FDA/EMA/WHO-approved vaccines like Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson. And the US and EU countries do not recognize Russian vaccines, and treat travelers with Russian vaccines as unvaccinated.

If I understood correctly, you are in Russia and you will come to NY for a day just to get vaccinated?

You can get vaccinated with any vaccine in any EU country which should be a much shorter and easier route than going to NY. I guess you're somewhere in the European part of Russia.

It is not about geography or travel distances. EU countries do not admit unvaccinated foreign citizens. The US still let their own citizens enter the country without a vaccine, only with a recent negative test. But that too will change in November.

My mistake, I really didn't know. I am an EU citizen and to cross the border we need a Covid passport for which you need to be either vaccinated or have had Covid in the last 6 months or a negative test. I honestly didn't even know that it was different for non-EU citizens.

Man, good luck.

I know this may be cumbersome (and obviously confirm with your doctor/provider) but I'd think about getting Pfizer/Moderna even after the JJ one shot some time in the future 3-6 months out if you are able to.

No probs. The rules have gotten so arcane and, quite frankly, illogical, that flying 10 hours each way for a 15 minute procedure has actually become the reasonable thing to do. This is the world we live in. Still, beats being bogged down in Mother Russia, or flying with a thousand connecting flights every time.

I already got the Sputnik and more recently the Sputnik booster. Seems to have done the job in keeping corona away. Now need the Johnson just for the certificate, with which I can travel more freely.

Both have small pox but the difference in severity is startling. The 1st tweet also makes a great point.

That image of the kids with smallpox had me curious about it. The story on how the smallpox vaccine was made is amazing. Why don't schools teach us this kind of stuff in history class. I loves these kind of stories.

If this is true then this is great news. Like all info similar to this take it with a grain of salt because we are still early.

Good luck on your trip here. The hospital near me had set up a 'Vaccine Village' and they had all three available. From what I have seen in NJ, the pharmacies are doing one or the other, but not all- at a specific location. I hope they're making it easy. Good luck!

Got the shot this morning no problem at a state vax facility on Times Square. Got the card, so with it I am now free to traverse the world again! God bless America! God bless the State and City of New York!

Although looking at the card, I could have drawn one like it myself, printed it on a piece of carton and filled it out by hand with blue ink. How on Earth can anyone check whether a card like that is legitimate or fake?

Congratulations! That was some journey.

As a New York resident I loaded the Excelsior Pass to my phone, which is readily accepted and easy to use instead of carrying around that little card which I believe I've already lost or at least misplaced.

Very informative thread on vaccine efficacy and how it's immunity can differ from natural immunity.
