Here' my idea for the ASG..

3 on 3 (with one sub) tournament with the same set up as the playoffs, and one G-league team in the East and West.

The East and West All-Stars would compete for who gets to represent their conference, with a big cash prize and matching donation to charity.

The incentive would be in part not to lose to a G-league team, fewer players with a bigger pot. The games would also be faster paced, more playground bball feel to it.

The top vote getters in each conference would get to pick their ASG teammates like picking teams in school.

The G-league teams would be picked by the commish.

Spree defied the team rules. They were losing. With Big contracts comes responsibilities and leadership which spree defied.
Everyone else has to abide by the rules but him? Its not about the money to pay the fine. That also says you above it. Team rules are to bring unity and a sense of cooperation. Spree in NY also did what the **** he wanted. Remember he’d not be there for start of camp? The broken hand lie? The infamious drives across the country and when he’d show up? How’d it end in NY? Bad. How it end in Minny? He was losing a step and was offended by contract offer. Ended bad where ever he went.
The man could play. No doubt. He worked hard. Maybe in todays game he is given more rope?
PJ did not read his team and they were losing. Coach’s were gruff mean dudes then. Players got younger, more entitled with contracts and one had to manage it.
Remember Magic vs. Paul Westhead? He lead a mutiny.
When your talented you get more chances. Spree got them. An avg player would be gone. Then players had fights on the court.
Look at Dray vs Poole and the reaction.
Good story. 10 games would be about right. “Malace in the Palace” happens in 2004 and league shuts down on court fighting.
Look up when Willis Reed beat up the laker team. He was lucky there was film of it that he did not throw the first punch becuase he was scared he’d be thrown out. He literally ****ed up the laker bench and broke a mans jaw.
The Knicks heat brawl happens in 1998. League knew things were boiling over. Spree crossed the line and league responded by drawing it. Good for us though!!! LOL
