Viewership was not as high as the first debate, and lasting sound bites was him saying "you'll be in jail".
He said nothing new.
She lawyered up.

if you care, you'll read up on fact checks. when done, he looks bad. If not, your prism will guide you.

Briggs, you have a daughter, what about his comments? Did it affect your view?

Feel like we should change this thread title to Where the heck is BRIGGS?

Now that preseason has started, got his hands full lusting over other teams 14-15th men, probably.

"Where the heck is Hillary Clinton?"

1. Counting her double digit lead
2. Not jerking off thinking about Ivanka.
3. Not worried about if anyone comes up with the 5 million dollars for video of him dropping the F-Bomb.
4. Has to still be a bit pissed at Bill, but she should be for the last 30 years.
5. Has a war chest of money to spend, and a thick file of ammo to launch at him.

That's where Hillary is!!!

To be fair, I think we can all have a good laugh when its over, beat Briggs up a bit on his proclamation that Trump will carry CT, but really if this country is to ever unite, which is why we are great, then it can begin with us.

My feeling is a Hillary win is great for Fox as they can go back to "business as usual" of hating on Democrats which is great for business. What we need is for Trumps movement of bullying politics to be found wanting and the country is able to get over it.
It won't be easy. I fear he will try to monetize his popularity as had Sarah Palin and he becomes a voice for a generation frustrated and left behind by globalization with less than a full education.

Really good points. Did you mean to say "F bomb"? The rumor I've been hearing is that it's $5 mil for a tape of him saying the N word.

I only watched a little bit of what looked like a very ugly debate. Trump doesn't even attempt to answer questions, he just changes the subject, and his moping around in the background when Hillary was speaking was really annoying. Hillary wasn't really debating well either, not pushing back enough. But maybe her strategy was to give him rope to hang himself.

Briggs dropped Trump faster than he dropped Frank Kaminsky.

"So the country is put to a historic test. If the man is not defeated, then we are not the country we imagine we are. All of the trillions spent on education was a waste. The churches should close up shop. The nation that elects this man president is not a civilized society. The gentleman is not airing out his fingernail polish; he is not showing off his wedding ring; he is making an obscene gesture. Ignore it at your peril.”

What's also being exposed (Samantha Bee is going to have a field day) is the anachronistic language/arguments being made by Republicans in response to the news.

Now I think most of them were genuinely repulsed by the video, but almost ALL of them (and many Democrats too, to be fair) used the "I have a wife and daughter" rhetorical device ... as if you needed to understand what was being described was sexual assault or sympathize with the issue.

The mode of thinking is just so misplaced. I too have a wife and daughter, and a sister and a mother, and nieces old and young, and lots of female friends, but I didn't need any of them to fully appreciate what this is. I just need to be a normally adjusted person.

And I'd say again to anyone clinging to the notion the 59-year Donald Trump found religion AFTER that time in his life.

10 months ago he said very publicly he could shoot someone one 5th avenue and he could get away with it with his supporters.

SAME worldview.

Good points! It's also messed up when Paul Ryan says women should be "put up on a pedestal" and "revered." (Social scientists call this benevolent sexism.) How about just treating them as equals?!

Trump supporters who are still hanging on are now saying groping without consent is not sexual assault (the law btw disagrees). I'd love to see their reaction if trump or some other dude grabbed their wife or daughter by the "p%%sy".

Of course as was said above thread the video should disgust yo no matter what but anyone who defends it deserves scorn because they're hypocrites.

It is amazing...And that this is the prevailing topic of discussion in such an important election...Republicans are always concerned about world view and how we look...Obama embarrassed us when he didn't act on Syria violating the red line..Are they concerned what our country looks like with Trump as their front man??..Macho symbolism and not substance rules their day...

And why does almost no one even comment on Donald's bizarre snorting/sniffling every 2 minutes?! Can you imagine what they'd be saying if Hillary was doing it?!

talking points for trump surrogates today was bringing up hip hop as the influence for language he used.

they are laying the groundwork now...this will be their excuse when the "n-word" bomb drops.

shows how out of shape he's in. he doesn't have any air left after saying a few sentences that he needs to reload.

Yeah, I guess so but he doesn't do it on the campaign trail. Maybe he's using longer sentences during the debates. Either way, it's weird and creepy. I've never seen someone do that in a debate.

Exactly. And this is no doubt the double standard type of stuff that has been going on waaaayyyyy too much in this and other political races. Generally but not absolutely, Hilary polling numbers started to decline a bit right around 9/11 when she fainted. There was a big much ado about this and the fact that she did not "divulge", i.e. try to hide, the fact that she had pneumonia and had a fainting spell. And then the stupidity of the pseudo medical diagnosis of Parkinson's and the such crept into our collective dialog, as if it were meaningful.

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo#odds

Things are getting back on track. The turning point for me was the Washington Post/Robert Costa reporting - FINALLY - regarding the birther issue, bringing it to the fore so that Trump had to deal with it. Feels to me the media finally corrected themselves and started to use the language necessary to deal with Trump. Words like "lies" were used in front page reporting and on air as they should have since day 1 back in 2012.

This has been a theory of mine since the beginning, that Trump's main goal was to create attention for a media venture down the road and any political outcome was secondary (Roger Ailes and that Breitbart CEO joining his campaign adds more to this theory).

But by pursuing this 2-pronged effort he doesn't give a **** about America or the process of democracy and is trashing it during this whole time. Win-win for Trump; lose-lose for democracy, the Republicans, the next Presidential term. Hopefully it will move the media in a better direction but not until next go round (the ability to more emphatically call out pseudo political types in the future).

I donno, this whole thing feel super slimey but it is what it is.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/shep-smith-donald-trump-debate-fascist_us_57fc7ef0e4b0e655eab74e7e?section=&

Fox News host Shep Smith launched a blistering attack on Donald Trump Monday, questioning what the GOP presidential nominee’s real motives are.

Smith railed against Trump for pandering to his voter base by attacking his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton during Sunday night’s presidential debate. He also criticized the brash businessman for failing to court undecided voters who wanted to hear substantive arguments, as Trump vowed to jail Clinton if he were elected.

“It might have been bordering on unconstitutional, maybe even something almost definitionally fascist,” Smith said of the declaration. “This, ‘If I get elected, I’m going to prosecute my political opponent,’ that’s never been done in the history of the United States.”

Smith speculated that Trump’s debate performance was not one of a candidate attempting to win the general election, but perhaps of a person vying for a media network. “It’s all set up not as a guy who’s trying to win what’s left to get, but a guy who has another agenda,” he said.

Rumors have been circulating for months that Trump’s back-up plan if he loses in November will be to start a media network catered to his voter base.
