The headline says the opposite though, that Phoenix gets teh conditional first rounder. Who knows, Chad got a lot of stuff wrong on the Mo Taylor deal.

The headline says PHX would also get a first round pick. I took it as the Deal is Q and a 1 for KT and PHX would also get a 1st rounder. I sometimes hate the way they word things over there....don't they have a competint editor?

Maybe PHX will just gice us our pick back from the Marbury deal.

Both teams get future firsts. I wonder if they are for this year or next...

All reports state future first round pick so I doubt we can swap our picks this year.

Well... KT got a 4 year, 30 million contract. (7.5mil/yr)

Q-Rich got a 6 year, 43 million contract. (7.1mil/yr)

In theory, swapping the 30 for the 21 would make up the difference.

I'm assuming any Swap of picks has to be next year, because while they can announce the deal, they can't make it official untill after July.

Unless of course PHO makes our pick at 21 and we make there's at 30. Man, I just want to get official details alread.

KT and his new homy's can smack talk about Marbs!

Little Nashy gonna wave his magic wand and KT could have a Career year!

Yes, I root for my ex Knicks to do well. I want Q to fit in well and help take us to new places, but Good trades are Win-wins for teams.

Seems the suns and kNicks are good trade buddies these days, we take players and help them manage the cap. We like a rich uncle!

Really? When in July can it be official?

on the surface, you have got to love this trade. an old man for a young man. impressive.

the only thing i had questions about was the Center position which i expect isiah to man with the Draft so...i think isiah got the best of this deal, i really do

Sweetney and Mo' Taylor become the starting power forwards and we gained another SG because isiah has no plans for Allan Houston whatsoever, i doubt if Allan has plans for Allan

Crawford, Marbury, Q - - - backcourt seems set for about 3 or 4 years

it would suck if Phoenix gets our #1 pick next year, the 15-16 pick if say we make the playoffs and we get Phoenix's #1 which will be in the late 20s.

It would be great if they are swapping 30 & 21 to make it work financially!

The way it has been in the past, a lot of trades get announced at the draft, but the don't get "officially" approved untill the deadline for offseason activity (usually first week of July, I think its pushed back this year).

an educated guess here. The Suns will be under the cap with the new CBA, and there's a good shot they will trade this year's pick to keep it. Something like Suns's #21 for our #1 next year, which is a good swap for us

The Suns are returning a favor to Isiah for taking Penny off of their hands last season..in the same token, the Suns are trying to upgrade their roster to remain competitive in the West, especially with Phill Jackson back coaching....They are a pretty good trade partner...

yeah, if he plays like a chucker, it's not a good trade on the basis that we wont improve. added chunks of back end salary and would be stuck with an undiscplined player. If we dont instill discipline back into his game, the trade would be bad if it was for howard eisley. This is a good, not great trade that depends on development, but he has the tools to do it.

But if he is able to go back to the form he had his first two years than the value of the trade is very reasonable

If we can improve his game and limit the 3's, this is a great trade. However, even if we can't, Isiah is giving us much more flexibility for the future. KT's value is done after this year and we are getting a younger player who has a fair contract.

The only reason I saw swapping next years #1 for their 21st pick this year is b/c next years draft will probably be extremely shallow b/c of the new age limit. Not even Oden will be in the draft. So who else is there? Boone and Gay?

Look, if they had Kurt in their lineup this season, they might have been able to win the West....Kurt always play well Vs KG/Duncan/and Nowitsky...He is shorter and stronger than the 3...not only that, Kurt can also score...

As for teams returning favors,,,they will only do it if it favors them...

Only time will tell. Marbury-Q-Crawford are a very talented backcourt on paper. I pray for great things to come. Q is still very young at 25. But there is still a ton of work to do on this roster.

Most of what I'm seeing has the Knicks giving the conditional 1st...not a swap. I don't think we are getting a pick back. I think we win the deal regardless (assuming pick is in 2006 and lottery protected), so if we get a pick back as well, then it's a steal.

I keep reading that Q is 6'6''. I know that's what he's listed at on the Suns website but I'm almost positive the Clipps had him listed as 6'4. On the court he definitely looks small.

However, he is definitely able to make up for this height difference due to long arms and the fact that he's as strong as an ox. He loves posting up and plays bigger than he is. However, I think he's a 2 all the way and think he'd be playing out of position at the 3.

I agree that we should take Bynum, Granger, or Graham. Granger is going to be gone at 6 more than likely. However, you put a beast like Graham at the 3 next to Marbury and Q and we have ourselves a very nice foundation. It gives us the flexibility to move either Crawford or Marbury. Q instantly becomes our best post player and we would have a very effective offense. Add a guy like Boozer and we are so solid on both ends of the court for years to come.

Marbury, Q, Graham, Boozer, Hunter(MLE)
w/ Crawford, Ariza, Sweetney, Rose, pick 30 off the bench

Thats a youthful team that can play at both ends. We address perimeter defense (Graham), post defense (Boozer, Rose), and shotblocking (hunter). We have some post up options on offense with Q and Sweets.
