Its almost as if IT got desperate and figured he had to do something.

Bingo. He was probably having night sweats imagining Webber in Philly and overreacted. Oh well. We'll only be paying for this mistake for like three years.

I don't know why you guys are complaining about Allan. He's injured, get over it. It's not his fault. He'll be off the books in 2 years, not 3. His contract ends in 2007.

exactly same time as Taylor's we'll be in very good shape in 2008 because H20 will be gone

The larger issue is how good can the Knicks be for the next two years. As of now, the ceiling isn't that high.

That reasoning makes no sense. Acquiring soft players, who don't play hard every night, who don't play D or rebound is exactly why this team landed on its butt this year instead of contending for the division.

LOL, that is like 3/4 of the NBA especially the internationals.

but after trading TT & Penny it will be higher and will continue to get higher until H2o is gone. Remember the Warriors just got baron davis for Dale's expiring contract. So TT & Penny will be very valuable in the offseason and even more during next year's trading deadline

Let me say this, TT is more of a man than H20. And he is not injured, it is chronic condition that does not get better, it hurts him to play. Either play or retire. Showing up cheering in nice suits is getting old. Grant Hill didn't shut it down because he was hurt, he was injured and required multiple operations. A big difference from not feeling 100% and not capable of performing.

dude...maybe mo t just can't play van gundy defense?

In our scheme, we need scoring from down low...we've got strong defenders at every position but PG and Center.

We have scoring from every position (heaven forbid TT continues to give us atleast 12 - 15 points)

Moochie was a waste, seriously, as was Vin Baker. We can get Mo that could blossom in our system. Have any of you seen him play for the knicks yet? You've seen Vin and you've seen Moochie, (some of you call him Coochie).

So, we have 8 million on the bench, who cares?

It worked for Houston.

And he might be good...he averaged 11 points a game, his only knock is that he doesn't play Van Gundy like defense...Who really does? Van Gundy shipped out Stevie Franchise...his coaching style is not the same as Herb's, so hey...you never know...I don't remember sweetney lighting it up under chaney...let's see how bad he is before we start calling for isiah's head.

The reason they keep implying that it was a three team deal because you guys want to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Isiah gets us 2 first round draft picks and a solid defender and we have 12 pages of how the Mo trade blew.

As much as I try to stay away from this board, I keep coming back and every other post sounds like a fan, while others just seem bored or are layden-shocked.

Mo can't play defense...could Vin or Moochie? We still two expiring contracts and 2 first round picks next year. What, you guys wanted to trade ALL OF THE CONTRACTS in one year? I like the every year we are player mentality.

So, mo can't play van gundy style defense...so what. If he can collect fouls and put the ball in the basket, he's more than worth the 9 million.

Sht...Okur get's paid about $12 million and he sucks in Utah. We actually got a good deal...and for those that thought we could get something better for nazr...you obviously have not been reading this board...Rose is an upgrade in all aspects...hustle, defense, offense and heart.

Mo is good. Trust me. He was a starter pre-van gundy. (is this true, I'm guessing on this fact )

you guys amaze me....i thought knick fans were supposed to be semi educated about the game, but your comments show you know NOTHING!!!

thede deals were terrible!!! awful!!!! crippling!!!!!! how long is this going to go on? lets just continue to trade for players who get paid way too much money and don't fit in on thier current teams and expect them to fit in here.....great strategy!!

2 first round picks? they will basically be 2nd rounders....shots in the dark....lottery tickets.....not worth the extra salary and players with no natural position.......i like what rose can bring on "d" but he is a poor man's kurt thomas........mo taylor is a decent offensive talent, but plays no "d" and cant rebound at all........these players were lost in the shuffle in san antonio and houston....nobody was dumb enough to take them off thier hands except our boy isiah....FIRE THIS CLOWN!!!!

Stop with "THE PLAN"

Under the current CBA, all GMs navigate as best they can.

THE PLAN, if there were a God, would be to unload Allan Houston for a second rounder.

Plan B is to improvise.

Who in their right might would give up a candy wrapper for Allan Houston? Oh but wait, he isnt 100%. Maybe when he is ready and "feels" 100% he might be worth something in a trade! NOT!

Don't be an ass. He was pointing out an ideal situation, if the whole mess of the CBA and trade restrictions wasn't involved.

Simply put, he was saying: Allan Houston is the albatross that's keeping us from advancing.

It's true. When Layden signed Allan Houston to 6 years, $100 MM, he set the franchise back SIX years. Now it's one extra year we won't be under the cap because of the Kurt Thomas extension and Malik Rose trade (I don't really blame Isiah for this, though, he's just working with what's there).
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Good job starting out your post by calling him an ass but I dont think you understood what he meant. If misterearl was saying Houston is a road block to our future then all gunsnewing was saying that he is so much of a road block, there is no way to get around it. In essence, guns was backing misterearl's.

I didn't realize misterearl's post was sarcastic lol

I'm just so mad at the people constantly complaining about bad contracts that all expire by 2008. And we're not going to be anywhere under the cap until H20's 20miL, PER YEAR!, is off the books And all those players have vaulue can are tradde assets.

Yep, houston is untradeable, mo t and rose can easily be traded and packaged.

snap out of it.

What would happen if we just released allan? Would his contract come off the books if he signed with another team?
